Positive: I liked the owner. He seems to be good person who genuinely wants to provide a good service to his guests. There has been some discussion in other reviews regarding the aircon, where one reviewer said this place was falsely advertised with aircon. I also assumed there would be one, since who in their right mind would offer an apartment without, in this area? Turns out, I forgot to check for this detail. There is an older version of aircon, called ceiling fan, which works well if you can leave the windows open, since there is a cool breeze during most of the day. The owner also provided an additional fan on request. Unlike in all other accomodations we had in this trip, the bathroom is big enough, especially the shower booth. WiFi was very good, too. The place is far enough from La Lineas hot spots that parking is a real possibility.
Negative: The bathroom did not have the bidet that is still listed here. Some might say this is a bad thing, but it actually means there can be a shower large enough. I imagine that most tourist accomodation in La Linea is used by travellers who want to visit Gibraltar, without paying the exorbitant prices on that side of the border. In that respect, the walking distance is quite far considering that one keeps walking a fair bit in Gibraltar itself. Since one needs to keep the windows open for lack of aircon, street noise comes into play. The windows are overlooking a busy street with all kinds of traffic during the day, starting early in the morning. There was washing-up liquid, but no detergent for the washing machine. Most other tenants will constantly slam the main entrace door with doesn’t have any dampener, so there is some extra noise for this apartment on the first floor. Given all this, the price could have been a bit lower. All other accomodations we stayed at during this trip had better value for money.
