Enclosed gardens with decked patio, summerhouse, garden furniture and BBQ. Hot tub (private). Bike store. Private parking for 4 cars. Wheelchair access. No smoking.. Carr House farmhouse is set on a working farm, but only minutes away from the attractions of Scarborough and only 1½ miles from the well known surfing beach at Cayton Bay, which also welcomes dog walkers throughout the year. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the large landscaped gardens with a summerhouse, apple trees and barbecue, with a perimeter fence making it ideal for both children and pets. This detached farmhouse is ideal for touring the North Yorkshire coast, from Whitby in the north to Bridlington in the south. A short journey inland takes you to the North York Moors, ’Heartbeat’ Country and Pickering for the steam railway, whilst York for its historic attractions is less than an hour away.
For activities nearby there is Dalby Forest for cycling and tree climbing, Wykeham Lakes for fishing, or the many beaches which offer the chance to just relax, sail, surf, sunbathe, paddle, and build sandcastles. Scarborough is a vibrant seaside resort with lots of family attractions, such as the waterpark, Sealife Centre and crazy golf, as well as a funfair, ice-cream parlours, amusements, and donkey rides. It also boasts superb live entertainment at the Open Air Theatre, with major acts booked each summer, and shows at the Scarborough Spa and the renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre. Beach 2 miles. Shop ¾ and pub 1 mile.
There is a wheelchair ramp for the entrance doors, stool for use in shower and portable toilet assist seat, for wheelchair users. These are kept in the utility area readily available to guests, if they require any such equipment during their stay.
You are welcome to walk your dog in the large garden and along public footpaths, but please note that the paddock is now being used for glamping. This is behind a large wall and shouldn't cause any disturbances.
A security deposit of £250 is payable in advance and will be returned 1 week after departure.

Summary: The house was beautifully decorated with a mix of old and new style farm house and very clean throughout. The grounds that surround the house were perfect for walking the our dog and so well kept. The only negative we found was the beds were rather firm but, it would not stop my family and myself from booking again and giving the house and the owners very high recommendations! Summary: The House was much bigger than expected and beautifully furnished. Everything we needed was provided and more. With 2 living rooms and a separate kitchen table and dining room there was plenty of space to not feel on top of each other. The communication from Jane with arrival details was great and I felt if I did need anything during my stay she was easy to get in contact with. 10/10 would definitely stay again. Summary: 2 families with 7 adults, 1 toddler and 2 large dogs. From arriving to leaving we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, out of the way of everyone but only a walk away into Cayton for local shops or a 5 min drive to supermarket. Filey, Bridlington, Scarborough, Whitby and York are only a short drive away. The cottage itself was first class with more than enough room for us all, you often got lost in the house looking for the kitchen. Summary: Great time in comfortable setting, like a home from home. Tastefully decorated. Everything to hand for cooking in the kitchen, really was fully equipped even more so than my own kitchen! Great comms from the owners. No complaints. Would come again. It was an issue to be going out for the day on public transport as the farm road would be hard for our 3 year old due to the length, bumpy ness and at night there is no lighting. But this is typical if you’re on a farm anyway. We used the nearby Seamer Train Station to park up for the day to venture out, there is also a nearby park and ride to use which is a short drive.

Summary: Brilliant location well equiped and quiet. Lovely garden. Well set up. Dog friendly. Be aware garden is enclosed but due to there being 2 farm gates it's not dog proof. Not a deal breaker though we just couldn't let our blind dog sniff around without constant supervision.

Summary: We took our parents for a 5 night stay to Carr House to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Carr House is a well equipped, spacious bungalow. Could not fault Carr House ( hot tub is great too) We had a lovely week and can highly recommend.
