Summary: Very tired, shabby and in need of upgrade ... which they are working on. I read on reviews 'nice views', which i couldn't see through the dirty windows. 'Restaurant on premises' was closed due to renos so we had to go down the windy mountain road into town for dinner and breakfast (The Town Tavern in Banner Elk was excellent). Carpet desperately needs changing. What they could clean they did ... clean comfy bed (but a Murphy bed? how do you clean behind that? You don't! ). New shower curtain ... thank you. Shower head is awf. Linens clean. My suggestion, wait until renos are done and then give it a try ... there's potential

Summary: The staff was very nice. The room was very dated with heavily stained carpet, missing closet doors and broken drapes. This place will not be on my “visit” list for the next time.

Summary: Room and staff were good. Parking is an ice death trap. Make sure you have chains for your car and ice skates to get through the parking lot.

Summary: The hotel could definitely use an update, as everything is pretty old. The bed was beyond uncomfortable, as it’s a pulldown and the mattress is hard and thin. I literally would move between the bed and the couch because my back hurt so bad. I had to move rooms because my heater went out after day 1, and then the room I moved to heater also went out. I was brought 2 space heaters for my remaining 3 night stay. The restaurant was closed, and they don’t have vending machines or snacks. There are slim to none Ubers that offer food delivery, or any delivery in general. The location was pretty good, They should make sure you have 4wd when visiting as the mountain is very steep, we struggled to get up it and park. For the price it is definitely not worth it. We weren’t even offered any discount for the hassle of having to move everything ourselves to a room with the same issue. And the space heaters were okay, but still for $700 you expect more.
