4 Bedroom Villa in Sezze

Villa DiTrapano was purchased by our grandfather in 1932. The Villa sits on 16 acres surrounded by an olive orchard with lemon, orange, and fig trees. The property was originally owned and developed by Sig. Rappini and includes his 17th century Castelletto (we do not rent this) which is adjacent to our Villa. During WWII the Castelletto, because of its fortification and strategic location, was occupied by the Germans.

In 2013, we began renovation of Villa DiTrapano. This included the addition of a Travertine swimming pool, and complete reburishing of the Villa, both inside and out. The Villa offers mountain views as well as views of the town of Sezze, the plains out to the Mediterranean and on a clear day the island of Ponza.

There are a total of 4 bedrooms, two on each of the upper floors and one bathroom per floor, all of which have been recently renovated. There are two memory foam cots available for extra guests, raising the sleeping accommodation to 10 guests.
We also have a studio apartment with air conditioning, full bath and seating area steps from the swimming pool. Sleeps 3 people. We only rent this to guests renting the villa for extra guests. $1500 USD per week.
The terrace off of the French doors from the living room provides a dining area with a view of the pool, village, and Mediterranean coast in the distance. The terrace has a teak wood dining table that seats 8 people or more with a large umbrella for shelter from the sun. Ample parking space is available on site. Electric gates add privacy. 20 minutes from the Mediterranean coast and beach areas. Access to Rome from local train station in 45 minutes. Suitable as a base for traveling further south to visit the Amalfi coast, Sorrento, and Islands. Local historic towns great to visit: Sermoneta, Bassiano, Roccagorga, San Felice, and Anzio. Pompeii is also very close, as well as the Medieval gardens of Ninfa and the Abbey of Fossanova where Saint Thomas Aquinas died.
Untouched countryside. A car is essential.

Summary: Seven of us spent a week at beautiful Villa DiTrapano. Situated above Sezze in its own quiet gardens, we relished throwing open the shutters in the morning to the gorgeous views, the birds and the church bells. The kids particularly loved the pool and the gelateria, just a short walk from the villa. We loved our private chef experience with the charming Caterina and discovering a small Italian town that felt far from the tourist trail. Dinner at Santuccio and a visit to pretty Sermoneta were also great. Thank you Lia and Giancarlo for making our visit so easy and happy. We hope to return one day. Grazie mille!

Summary: Villa has beautiful pool area and gardens with stunning views from terrace.Property is spacious inside with comforts including gowns in each bedroom.We are a family of 6 from the UK and had an amazing stay.Check-in was easy and host was available each day should we need. Summary: This jewel of a property is nesseled in the rustic village of Sezze with amazing views. The facilities are brilliant for self catering but easy access to the town ( couple of minutes walk) to eat out. I can honestly say this is the best pool I have been in, it is beautiful to look at and at night when the lights are on it really comes to life and makes an evening swim under the stars a memory to treasure. We enjoyed a wonderful day in Roma as they say from the train station in Sezze, for just over 9 Euro each we got a return ticket which included all busses and metro travel in Roma itself. The metro is so easy and air conditioned not like London! A lovely week and would highly recommend a stay here. Lastly I have to mention the family members dealing with this property, they were so helpful before and during our stay.

Summary: We spent a week at this wonderful villa in August. Our stay was sublime :-) Truly unforgettable experience - with stunning views, fabulous facilities and just a gorgeous villa like none other. Giancarlo was always available to help in any way we required. He was great, as was Lia when we were sorting out arrangements beforehand. Not to be missed is the private dining option. Alessandro's cooking was a delight. Try Katerina's cooking too. Can't say enough - and we don't normally write reviews - a massive thankyou to the family for everything.

Summary: We loved our stay at Villa DiTrapano! The renovations they have done are first class, the kitchen and the whole house are well appointed, the views from the deck and pool are magnificent, and it is conveniently located so we could tour Pompeii, Positano, Amalfi, Novello, Anzio, and the Sezza region. We had stopped first in Rome, and it is an easy drive down to Sezza. Some of our most enjoyable hours were spent by the pool, touring the grounds, cooking at home, and visiting local restaurants-- a most memorable meal was our first night where the DiTrapanos had arranged for a local Chef and friend to come in to serve us a meal that seemed like a dozen or so tasty courses and matching wines of course-- very Italian and a late night. Some of the most fascinating aspects were what history is known about the property and imagine the stories if the walls could talk. All in all, we and our friends had an experience that we will fondly share for some time to come.

Summary: Beautifully restored villa with lovely grounds and pool, just an hour from Rome airport. Wonderful view of the valley and Mediterranean in the distance. It has very comfortable bedrooms, luxurious bathrooms, and a huge, relaxing living room full of books....We were treated to a marvelous breakfast of local pastries and cappuccino on the first morning We loved being just a few steps from the charming, friendly (and tourist-free!) town. But it is also a great base for exploring Rome and points to the South like Pompeii and The Amalfi Coast. Luca, who manages the property and is also your guide, is a gem. Historian, art expert, wine connoisseur and general bon vivant, he will make sure you eat at unforgettable places, drink great wine and get more out of museums and historical sites than you thought possible.

Summary: Villa Di Trapano is a very charming, well restored home with a commanding view of pre Roman town of Sezze. My wife and I spent a wonderful week there with two of our old friends and four of our new friends. Not only the villa was, for us , an excellent place to stay to explore Sezze, but it also provided us with a very convenient home base to explore Rome, Sorrento peninsula and Pompeii. If you also have a good fortune to have Luca DiTrapano to introduce you to intricacies of Rome you cannot have a better guide. This is an Italian travel experience not to be missed

Summary: We stayed at Villa DiTrapano for about a week in May of this year. The recently renovated Villa is beautiful and the perfect mix of old world Italy with all of today's conveniences. Step outside for a breathtaking view of the countryside all the way to the Mediterranean. We took day trips every day and spent one day in Sezze. We've traveled quite a bit and we don't hesitate to tell everyone that the food in Sezze is the best! Santucchio's Restaurant is a must! Luca DiTrapano is a great guide - his knowledge of Italy is amazing. Our time at Villa DiTrapano was one of our most memorable - we would go back tomorrow!

Summary: We spent a week @ Villa DiTrapano, the first of May, 2016 with 3 other couples. We can't say enough good things about this vacation. It was absolutely a wonderful experience and location in Italy. Get away from the tourists and the big cities, but still be close enough to experience day trips to Rome, the Amalfi Coast, the Mediterranean Sea, etc. We spent a full day, just exploring Sezze, a small, ancient town, all within walking distance of the Villa. It was too early to enjoy the pool, but we certainly enjoyed the view. The Villa has been updated with everything we could have possibly needed. We enjoyed the food in this area more so than any other parts of Italy. Luca DiTrapano was a joy and provided us with a wealth of knowledge about the area and Rome. We even traveled to other parts of Italy and he was a great help with our accommodations and travel arrangements, etc. It was a perfect vacation, we would love to return. Thank you.

Summary: Loved our recent stay at Villa DiTrapano, a completely amazing slice of Italy. The Villa sits atop a hill in Sezze and is beside an historic Casteletta-or Small Castle which is part of the view. I was blown away by the beauty inside and out, with recently updated rooms and bathrooms. Gorgeous and relaxed common areas where you feel so at home. The pool is fabulous and every aspect of the Villa are clean and well maintained. It was tough to leave poolside cocktails and breathtaking views each evening to head to any of the amazing restaurants listed at the Villa (short drives all). Two favorites were da Santuccio and Hostaria Il Gobbo (the Hunchback). We spent long delicious hours, as course by course, we were treated to Italian delights and many bottles of vino! Sezze is a friendly and wonderful town. It is a short drive to beautiful beaches. The open-air Saturday morning market was fun local people watching. It was highlighted by a yummy sandwich of sausage and grilled onion called a panino con salsiccia, simple pleasures! Use your earmarked vacation dollars to stay at The Villa DiTrapano. You will have treasured memories.
