Positive: Very attentive, forthcoming and friendly staff. Great attention to detail in the interior design. It is really cozy and thus you feel right at home. Wish we had more time to sit by or swim in the pool. Also the area around the venue is quiet and has an amazing view of the river valley. Would have loved to stay a couple more nights! If you come by this area, it is definitely worth staying here.

Positive: Self contained studio with private facilities. Had a private upstairs roof terrace which offered pool and open countryside views.

Positive: Rita and her brother.are wonderful hosts. Always very polite and willful to spend time chatting with guests. She helped me a lot during my staying, especially the first day when, extremely tired, I asked if I could rest somewhere while waiting for the room to be gotten ready (I was there three hours earlier than the normal check-in hours), and she allowed me to get into the chill-room and sleep on the sofa. The hostel is so cosy and perfectly clean in every area. The beds are really comfortable and the room well aired. The kitchen has many facilities, such as citrus juicer and blender. The garden is nice, too, and there is a swimming pool which looks over the valley of the town.
Negative: Despite the hostel being very close to the centre of the town, the ascent to get to the hostel itself is pretty steep. This was not a problem for me, though.
Summary: Best hostel I have ever been at!

Positive: This accommodation truly took me by surprise – in the best way. First of all, the hostel is run by wonderful owners who are incredibly kind, welcoming, and communicative. During my travels in Portugal, I faced an unexpected and serious issue, and they went out of their way to help me simply out of goodwill. Second, the place is very well maintained. There’s a pool and a small courtyard to relax in, a games and entertainment room, comfortable beds, clean and well-equipped bathrooms, and even a shared balcony with lovely views of the countryside and nearby horses. Third, the village itself is absolutely charming. If you're looking for hidden gems in Portugal, this is definitely one of them – a beautiful hilltop fortress with a church, narrow walking streets, a pedestrian bridge over the river, and plenty of peaceful spots to sit and enjoy the view. This is an excellent place to spend the night. And if you ask, the hosts are more than happy to share their personal recommendations for what to see and where to eat in the area.
