Welcome to Finca Good Life!
By the way, that’s not just a name; it’s our philosophy. Living the good life is what we do everyday, and our desire is to share it with you for a few days.
But what in the world is a finca? In Spanish it means “farm.”
We don’t have anything like a huge Texas ranch, or a vast corn field in Iowa. No, it’s not that kind of farm. Maybe you should think more about Old MacDonald’s place. But put it on a mountain-top. At 5000 feet. In Costa Rica. Now you’re getting the idea.
Yes, we have a few chickens…and geese…and guineas. They strut around striking the most delightful poses. Speaking of strutting, don’t be surprised when Ben and Jerry—the twin turkeys—run up to gobble bienvenidos (welcome.)
We have the sweetest dairy goats you’ve ever seen. And (with a little help from me in the kitchen) they produce a wide variety of homemade, organic, artisan cheeses. From Manchego to Brie to Chevré and more, they will entrance your taste buds.
Of course, we also have our good-natured pups. And what would a farm be without a barn cat.
Today a lot of folks call what we do, homesteading.
We just call it the good life.

Summary: We have to preface this entire experience by saying we didn't want to leave - ever. Michele was by far more than simply a "host." She was amazing; the kindest, most accommodating woman in every way. She was reachable, extremely approachable, responsive ... I could go on. We felt so at home. The house was impeccably clean and stocked with more supplies than we could use. There was fresh goat milk from her goats (who we were so generously welcomed to help milk!), fresh yogurt Michele made that day, fresh eggs from her hens, rice, beans, etc. We even asked for more milk the second day & were rewarded with what we milked that morning. The view from the house was breathtaking. You are literally in the clouds. It is beyond beautiful & unlike anything I imagined. I could write forever about this experience; it's one I'll never forget, and one I'll be sure to come back to. Michele, Ray & Brian, thank you all for your hospitality & so much more. We had the time of our lives.

Summary: I can’t say enough about this property, the hosts, and my experience in general. Finca Good Life is exactly as it says. Pat and Michele have put tremendous care into their property. They designed it themselves and man did they make magic! During my stay I was able to help milk a goat (which was so much fun!) and enjoyed a great lunch. I walked down the mountain and into town to check out the surrounding area and stop at the store. The locals are so nice. Everyone greets you with a friendly “hola” or a wave. Walking back up the hill is probably the best cardiovascular workout I’ve had in sometime and I work out daily. Multiple rests were needed. But I sure felt good after! The road up the mountain is mostly paved, just steep, so you shouldn’t have a problem getting up when driving. Once up to the top, your paradise awaits. My agenda only allowed me to stay for one day, however, I plan on returning as soon as I can. Thank you so much Pat and Michele. So much love to both of you! Until we meet again…

Summary: There aren’t enough words to summarize how amazing this place is, It’s truly life changing. You absolutely have to stay here and experience the culture, the breathtaking views, and the life that is Cachi. Michelle and Ray are a breath of fresh air and have cultivated and built a place that is uniquely theirs but at the same time encompasses everyone. They will welcome you with open arms, treat you like family, and embrace you with love. We spent three days with them and we feel like family. We didn’t want to leave and spent the last six days of our trip to Costa Rica wondering why we didn’t spend the entire time at Finca Good Life.

Summary: The pictures can’t describe how beautiful this place is! When we first arrived we were blown away about the view, absolutely stunning. The place was just outstanding. We were suppose to stay for two night and ended up staying our whole vacation here. We got to try to milk goats and explore the beautiful area around. Michele and Ray even had a book made about things to see and explore in the area. So thoughtful and helpful. We even got to try fresh goat milk and youhurt. I’m so glad we stayed here. I can’t say enough good things about them. Defiantly the best hosts we experienced! Being on top of a mountain in the rainforest sitting outside in the morning with a fresh cup of coffee and watching all the different birds outside was so peaceful, and on the other side you have a view to a vulcano. Defiantly coming back to this place. If you planning a trip to Costa Rica make sure to book this place on your trip! You really get the hole Costa Rican experience at this place. Thank you Michele and Ray for having us.

Summary: Where do I even begin? The entire experience at Finca Good Life was like a dream come true. Photos could never do this place justice. My husband and I fell in love with the entire place. Everything from the fresh goat’s milk and cheese to eating the fresh fruits straight off the tree . The casita is beautiful , lovingly decorated , very comfortable and the view is worth it all. As others have stated driving up the mountain is frightening at first . Don’t arrive in the dark like we did . But after a few times, you do get the hang of it. There’s plenty to do and see in the surrounding towns. We felt very safe there and very much enjoyed the friendly local “ticas” . Michelle and Ray are the kindest hosts you could ever meet . They are helpful , and more then willing to share their amazing stories. They quickly become friends you’ll never forget . The animals on the farm were so fun to interact with . My husband wants a goat farm now. And we both agree we could see ourselves living on Costa Rica one day . Possibly the best trip we have ever taken and we will certainly come back . I cried saying good bye. If you’re looking for a one of a kind adventure , peace from the craziness of life, and to see more beauty then the mind can imagine …. You won’t be sorry you booked this spot.

Summary: Michelle and Ray have outdone themselves. The property is magnificent in beauty and they have been very mindful of how they have set the farm up. You have the option of hanging with the goats or even collecting your morning eggs. The outside grill is set up nicely for an enjoyable meal. Enjoy your coffee or devotions on the deck as you listen to the many birds...loved this. Make sure you have a good vehicle to get up the mountain...it is a bit steep.
