Summary: Staying in Asheville proper is expensive and urban. Get away to Mills River, about 20 minutes south, and enjoy peace and quiet. This property has a great location, secluded yet close to everything you might need. You can get a fancier place for a much fancier price, or you can get a terrific place at a modest price. Give me option 2 every time.

Summary: When we arrived we were surprised to see that this location was actually a single wide trailer that had seen many years of service. While the bathroom fixtures were showing signs of wear and tear, everything was kept in tip top shape. We did have a minor problem with the bathroom sink the day after we arrived but the owner corrected the situation immediately. This place is extremely clean and well maintained. The furniture new and is in excellent condition and very comfortable. The TV was a very large flat screen, and the internet was excellent. Although the bedrooms are small the beds are also very comfortable. We loved the kitchen. It was well equipped with just about everything a cook would want. (There is no dishwasher.) The unit is placed on the edge of a large field which is very private and has a country setting. It is very peaceful, and if you have good weather sitting on the front porch is a delight. They have some large wild turkeys that just walked about in the field while we were eating. We also saw deer in the field as well. Mills River is also a fantastic location. It is equidistant between Asheville and Hendersonville and is only about a beautiful 20 minute ride to either location. Some of the downsides are that the driveway is gravel and does have some rough spots. We have a regular sedan and did not have any problems, but I would not want to tackle it in bad weather. We also could not open the windows and had no screens. I do not know if that's because the owners still had them in a "winterized" mode or if they are always that way. We had a few warm nights and that made the bedrooms very stuffy. If there was AC I could not find it. Overall, for the price this was an excellent value. We would definitely stay here again in spite of some of the limitations. We loved the time we spent there.
