Do you prefer an authentic travel experience, away from the touristy spots? Well, tucked away at the end of a semi-private road, deep in the North side, is Pineapple Cove. Upon arrival you will find a quaint cottage with a turquoise door and red roof, surrounded by lush tropical fauna. If you’re looking for a quiet, restorative place that’s less than 15 minutes to all the activities and beaches the North side offers, Pineapple Cove is the only choice.
There’s a reason why most locals eventually call the North side home, it’s the jewel of St. Thomas. The views are unbeatable, the flora and fauna look like they’ve been given miracle grow, the beaches aren’t crowded and it’s so quiet you can hear the waves crashing.
You are:
- 10 minutes away from Hull Bay, a local’s favorite beach
- Magen’s Bay, known as St. Thomas’s most beautiful beach, is about 15 - 20 minutes away
For the more adventurous, you are:
- 10 minutes away from zip-lining and the Mermaid’s Chair hike.
- French Town, a great place for restaurants, is just a ten-minute drive down the hill
There are two homes on the property, the cottage and a larger, two-story house. The property manager lives in the lower level of the main house. She is available to give recommendations on restaurants, beaches, charter companies and to answer any questions you might have about the island. There is a washer and dryer available to use. It’s located in the storage room of the larger house. You must leave the cottage, walk down the driveway and a set of stairs to access it.
The most important thing to note about St. Thomas is that there are only two ways to get around, taxi or rental car. Taxis can be notoriously difficult to deal with and very expensive. You can get an idea of taxi rates by googling "Taxi rates St. Thomas." Keep in mind that price is each way and there are additional charges for each piece of luggage. Also, there are no addresses on St. Thomas, so you will have to describe to them how to find the property, which will be pretty hard to do as a visitor.
I always recommend renting a car. A cheap, compact car will work perfectly. Renting a car will give you freedom to see the island on your terms. You can go where you want, when you want. Google Maps and Waze work really well on St. Thomas. If you'd like recommendations on rental car places once you've booked, just ask!

Summary: We had a great stay and Meghan was a great host. She was very responsive and left a ton of recommendations to help guide our exploring. The cottage is on a quiet part of the island but most beaches and restaurants were within a short driving distance. The cottage was clean and quaint - perfect for two! Would definitely consider coming back.

Summary: This place is absolutely amazing! There is NOTHING that we would change about our stay! It was perfect from arrival to departure. Meghan goes above and beyond from the time you book your stay to the time your vacation is over. She shares lots of info and suggestions right after booking and continues to check in with you until your arrival. The place was very clean and had everything and more that we needed. I may kick myself for saying this, as we definitely intend to come back, but the price could justifiably be raised. The location and its surroundings can not be beat. We were on our honeymoon, so we weren't interested in going out on too many excursions and enjoying the nightlife of the island, but had we wanted to, we were not a far drive away from everything. Plus, Meghan has a very detailed book in the rental full of suggestions on places to eat, visit, fun excursions and much more. The location is surrounded by beautiful greenery and soothing sounds, which gave us a very serene and secluded sense, away from all of the hustle and bussel. It was VERY private, but yet comforting to know that the property manager wasn't far away had we needed anything. Doug, Meghan's husband, was super awesome! We enjoyed talking with him AND he gave us a pin drop to a beach, that was very private with breathtaking views. All in all, great stay!! Would not change a single thing!! If you are looking for a vacation of a lifetime, this is your place! Thank you for the hospitality and allowing us to stay at this place!! Hope to see it again very soon!

Summary: I've been going to St Thomas nearly every winter for many years. In the past I had stayed with friends, but this time decided to branch out and try something new. This listing caught my eye, but I kept passing it up thinking I wanted something further East closer to Red Hook. However, I kept coming back to the listing over and over, and finally decided to just listen to the universe and book it. I'm happy to report that it was indeed the right move. Meghan the property manager was super responsive and helpful, setting a positive tone for the trip ahead. She provided clear instructions for the house as well as how to get there. She is clearly very experienced, and her professionalism made me feel at ease. Getting to the house, like most locations on St Thomas is an adventure. I had the coordinates and pin drop provided by Meghan but foolishly didn’t listen to her recommendation to use Google Maps and instead used my normally trusty Garmin. After a U-turn or two we did eventually make it to the cottage. Oh, by the way, strongly recommend a Jeep or other 4x4 with good clearance. Upon arrival at the cottage we immediately knew we had made the right decision. The place is super cute and for two people is the perfect amount of space. There is a ton of closet space and overall, the place is well appointed. And then there is the view! Eating breakfast in the morning and having a drink at sunset on the porch is an absolute treat. As the cottage is situated on North side of the island, you look out on the edge of the North Atlantic. This also means you are never hit with direct sunlight which means the porch is almost always comfortable. Speaking of comfort, the cottage sports a single in-wall air conditioning unit that work perfectly to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature. During the day I would set it for 78° and keep the ceiling fans on high, while at night I would turn the ceiling fans down to a lower speed and drop the thermostat to 73°. Not once were we uncomfortable or hot. The bed is queen sized but very comfortable. In summation, if you are a looking for quiet, authentic, island living experience look no further. Just imagine yourself sitting on the porch in the late afternoon looking out to ocean while watching the birds and iguanas in the trees around you while reflect on day’s activities. I can safely say that for my next visit to St Thomas, I know just where I want to stay.

Summary: This place was amazing!!!!! This was my husband’s first vacation and he feel in love with this spot! He is an ocean guy and the fact that he could see the ocean everyday was perfect for him! Meghan was awesome!! She gave us excellent directions to find this little piece of heaven! Now I will say you will need a small suv to navigate the inclines to get there but it is worth it! We will definitely back! Meghan you have lifetime customers! Thank you for your hospitality!

Summary: The cottage was exactly like it was described in the listing. The cottage is well maintained, clean and decorated nicely. The layout is perfect which includes an amazing deck and spectacular view! It was super easy to find using Google Maps. Like mentioned in the listing, you should definitely rent a car as most areas are a 15-30 minute drive. We enjoyed exploring the island and never minded the drive. Meghan was very responsive when we contacted her a few times. She offered great suggestions for rental cars, restaurants and beaches. She also had a great suggestion for a company that provided extra beach gear who dropped it off right at the place. We would definitely stay at Pineapple Cove again on our next trip to St. Thomas!
