Summary: We did have a very good week in a house which is pretty well equipped but a couple of things need sorting out. Firstly, instructions for parking are given as if from the house, not from the approach, so very confusing on arrival! Secondly, spent ages looking for light switches hidden behind microwave. The folder of instructions for appliances is just a collection of manuals - not what you want to wade through when you first arrive and need to prepare a meal. It would be very helpful to have one laminated sheet with quick instructions for everything. Standard of cleaning throughout was quite poor with many cobwebs and dust throughout ground floor. The ‘roll up’ blinds were infuriating! Any other kind of blinds would do. Upstairs heater was left on in bedroom (we used downstairs). When I tried to turn it off it fell off the wall. Could have been quite dangerous. Managed to re-hang it when it was cool but this needs fixing urgently. Apart from that we had a good week because a) the sun shone all the time and b) we’d chosen Faye la Vineuse in order to meet up with Liz, who I was teaching with some 30 years ago. If you are living outside all the time in high summer you may not notice some of the irritations, but in late September we did.

Summary: Cottage has everything for a relaxing holiday for a couple or small family group. Really nicely restored. Nice enclosed garden for catching the sun and sampling the local produce (mainly the wine!). Very quiet position at edge of village. The church bells did not really bother us ! Good location for sightseeing in lower Loire valley. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful break in France.

Summary: Faye la Vineuse is an exceptional holiday letting. It is beautifully renovated in a quiet medieval hamlet. There is a lovely garden, It is excellent for the elderly, close to the attractions of Chinon and the chateaux of the Loire valley.Highly recommended.

Summary: We stayed for a week in this very quiet and peaceful home. There is much to see and do in this part of the Loire and we enjoyed visiting chateaux, river swimming, wine tasting and wandering around the wonderful local towns along the Loire. Richelieu is a beautiful place to have on your doorstep. The village is very quiet (apart from the church bells which we grew to love) and we went for lovely walks through the countryside. This area has a great combination of real agriculture and countryside together with culture. The house was very clean, well equipped and has a very pretty interior. The essentials in the fridge were very appreciated as was the advice given by Nick on arrival. A great place to stay.

Summary: We stayed in this beautifully renovated Gite for a long weekend for a well deserved break. We couldn't have asked for nicer surroundings to relax and take in the beautiful village and neighbouring towns. The Gite itself, has everything that you might need, is comfortable, and decorated beautifully. The best part is sitting in bed in the morning listening to the church bells chime as the sun seeps in through the shuttered windows! Thanks Jackie and Tim for a lovely time at your home. We will be back!
