The Lodge: A modern lodge with a striking entertaining space, use of an adult only spa, and a private garden with jacuzzi!

Well equipped, self-contained modern lodge in a fabulous location.

Open plan living and entertaining space, four ensuite bedrooms (one on the ground floor) and a private garden, all set in the stunning grounds of a Victorian Manor House. Just next door is a coffee house and bistro, with all welcome, and guests over the age of 16 also have complimentary use of our adult-only spa with gym, relaxation areas and indoor thermal spa, including a heated indoor pool.

A stunning location that for Westcountry adventures and a relaxing catch up with friends and family.

Sounds perfect already! Well there’s more! Devon and Somerset is packed with things to do: Golf courses, cycle paths, moorland walks, local National Trust houses, kayaking, watersports, climbing, shopping, dining, nights out and lots more. Easy access to the North and South coasts – visit the beautiful beaches of Lyme Bay, Exmouth, Sidmouth and Saunton Sands. Close proximity to historic towns and cities – Taunton, Exeter, Bath, Wells, Glastonbury, Bristol. A short drive to open moorland – the famous Blackdown Hills, the Quantocks, Exmoor, Dartmoor. Crealy Adventure Park is just down the road and a little further is The River Dart Country Park, both fun days out with the kids. And don’t forget the Devon Steam Railways! A treat for adults as well as the kids.

Summary: We stayed here as a group of friends before attending a wedding in the area and found this to be an ideal place to stay. The property was more than adequate for 8 people with a large kitchen area and lovely gardens. The hot tub was a great addition and we enjoyed relaxing in there. The views in the morning were great over the countryside and it was nice to have use of the spa. All in all a successful stay! Thanks

Summary: Just back from a fabulous weekend at the Lodge. It was everything it promised to be and we just wish we could have stayed longer. The accommodation was great, each bedroom nicely decorated with en-suite bathrooms; crisp clean bedding and towels in each. The living space was ideal for the 8 of us, plenty space and a very well equipped kitchen area. The welcome pack with some basics (including wine) was a nice touch on arrival. Outside, the view from the patio/deck was superb and a wonderful space to sit and relax, chat and drink coffee or wine! The hot tub was warm and well used during our stay! The spa is small but had everything you might need - it is adult only and it clearly states that on the venue details. The staff were very friendly and helpful and great at responding to our many questions in the run up to our stay. We ate at the bistro one for one evening and lunch - would highly recommend as the food was gorgeous. All in all, couldn't fault the Lodge with a View! We had a fantastic stay - thank you to the team there.

Summary: So there were 8 adults and 1 cocker spaniel, property was large enough to accommodate us but actually felt more spacious. Everywhere was clean, welcoming, loads of parking space. Great private grass area for a dog, and also a private large patio with fab views to sit out when weather allows, and don’t forget the jacuzzi.. just tops it all off. Staff are fab. Checking in was easy, staff are so friendly and gave us lots of great ideas of where to go. So the downside and I think it’s more that we are from London and due to location and Covid, choices of fast food delivery is limited, so the standard Uber Eats and Deliveroo is almost non existent. Make sure you bring staple things although there is a BP garage with shop within walking distance. Other food shops are in local driving vicinity but limited parking almost everywhere. Lots of dog friendly pubs etc but not everywhere is open all day or serves food all day including bistro. Everyone we met was so friendly and helpful and we just had the most brilliant time as a family get together. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning And we wanted to say a huge thank you to Faye and Amy for making our stay so enjoyable.

Summary: The lodge was set in a beautiful area with lovely staff that looked after you whilst you relaxed. The refurb of the property looks great but just needed a few more finishing touches. Would highly recommend visiting.
