Positive: Magical hideaway is really an experience. Stunning location, breathtaking views, history on your doorstep.

Negative: Finding it is a bit tricky. Google Maos/ Waze takes you a couple of metres beyond the entrance gateway. Could be useful to point to the "red daub of paint on the gate"/ "opposite the tiger sculpture".

Summary: Unique experience in the heart of the beautiful Boyne valley. Loved it.

Positive: The location for us was perfect, very peaceful setting and stunning views.

Negative: We were not able to have a shower for a few days! Unfortunately there is no power in the shower and the water was too hot. A handyman arrived unannounced, it would have been nice to have been asked about this prior to his arrival. We loved the stay but for the stay a shower should be included as an option.

Positive: - Lovely old building, pretty well restored, very quiet and peaceful - Key pickup went ok, but would have been nice to meet the owner - Kitchen facilities were quite good

Negative: - Upset to see dramatically different pricing just a few days after I left. - Place is way overpriced for what you get - Location is nice, but got quite the surprise when members of the public began walking their dogs past the front door early in the morning. a small sign nearby stated that the area is a public right of way...no mention of that in the property description

Positive: The location is stunning and very peaceful. Very old cottage that evokes imagination of what it must have been like hundreds of years ago. Very convenient to both Newgrange and the Battle of the Boyne site.

Negative: Directions to get there were incomplete - got us down the right lane but didn't describe which property to turn into at the end. The EIR code would have been really useful. As it was, Google Maps sent us to another place down the road (Newgrange Lodge) but they were able to help us. Cell phone reception in the immediate area is bad, so I would encourage guests to get the directions figured out before they are in the neighborhood.

Summary: A hauntingly beautiful spot on on the ancient River Boyne close to both Newgrange and Battle site.

Positive: Both the cottage and its riverside location are absolutely beautiful. It truly is a MAGICAL HIDEAWAY. David and Amy waited for me to arrive and were very supportive and helpful. Staying in the cottage was like stepping back in time. I loved the cosy kitchen with stove, the two authentic upstairs bedrooms and modern, renovated bathroom and shower. The cottage is only a few minutes drive from New Grange. You can walk there along the river bank. I also loved the pink rose-covered stone walls and the window boxes and spring flowers by the river and behind the house. Lock Cottage is very close to Dalys Hotel at Donore and a small supermarket. It is right in the middle of the sacred sites of County Meath and highly recommended for the beauty and peaceful serenity of the surrounding countryside.

Negative: My only suggestion is that the name, LOCK COTTAGE, could be written on a sign at the main road, as if David and Amy had not been meeting me it may have been rather challenging to find my way.

Summary: FABULOUS. I will come again.
