Summary: The best property stayed in so far. As always it was the little things that made the difference. We are tidy people, but always say that if provide the 'tools' to keep things tidy then it helps everybody. Did fear that the local hounds may be an issue but after their 'chorus' at about 2000 each night they piped down after an hour - naturally the Great Danes were fine, it was the chihuahuas kicking it off. Overall a great week

Summary: We had an amazing week in Franck's beautiful home. The photos looked great when we were looking for a house in Portugal but the reality is very different and the house looks so much better when you are there. We were a family of 4 and had three large double bedrooms which all had air-conditioning. The house is incredibly well equipped with everything you would need for a great holiday. The terrace has a built-in BBQ and plenty of seating. The pool area is amazing too with plenty of sun throughout the day. Cantenhede is a great base for trips to Porto, Aveiro (a delightful place), Coimbra and the beaches of Mira and Tocha. The beaches are a 20 minute drive away and we found Praia da Tocha easier in terms of parking and beach access. The natural spring lake at Praia Fluvial dos Olhos da Fervença is an extraordinary place and a 5 minute drive from the house. Franck was an excellent host and answered any questions immediately. We also met with Elisabeth who lives locally and looks after the house for Franck - very friendly and spoke amazing English and French. A highly recommended place for a holiday and we hope to return one day.
