Positive: It was beautiful everywhere you looked! The cottage was mostly updated and very nice.
Negative: The biting flies! We couldn’t escape them. Nothing would repel them. We spent the next week scratching and suffering. Where’s the wildlife? I’ve seen more critters in my urban backyard than I did here. There’s not even a variety of birds! BRING YOUR OWN OUTDOOR CHAIRS! Theirs are awkward, slanted and not comfy. The trails were difficult to find and there was no petting zoo! But I’m grateful still because they accepted my big Dane on the property and the trip was always meant for him and he loved it.
Summary: We’d go back.

Positive: We stayed here recently and had a mixed experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the place is clearly managed with care. The cabins are a bit old but cozy and clean, and the bedding was fresh. Unfortunately, we chose cabin 8, which was not ideal. It had no direct access to the water, so we had to walk to the shared beach. There was also a playground right next to our cabin, and children started playing early in the morning, which made it hard to relax. The road is visible from the cabins and the beach, which takes away from the peaceful lake setting. However, the beach itself was nice. The water was clean and the lake bottom was very comfortable for swimming. Inside the cabin, the doors creaked and the taps didn’t work well. The water pressure was inconsistent. If you book a cabin closer to the lake and farther from the playground, it could be a really nice place to stay.

Positive: We stayed for two nights and had a really lovely getaway from the city. The cottage had everything we needed—great lake view, BBQ, terrace, and all the essentials like dishes and cookware. It was super cozy and peaceful. The staff were really friendly and helpful too. Would definitely come back!

Positive: The reception person was pleasant. The location excellent. The area, being a lake property, is lovely. The cabin had a heater and also an electric mosquito zapper, both of which worked and were helpful.
Negative: When I arrived I was presented with a release form to sign which was exceedingly broad and inappropriate giving 100% release even if the negative event was due to the negligence of the owner. The release needed to be written in a much fairer way, recognizing that the owner also has responsibilities and reference should have been made to Ontario laws which govern such things. I did not sign it. The entrance door for the cabin had no dead bolt and the safety latch was broken. I called attention to this but nothing was done during my stay there. Cleaning needed more attention to detail, especially the kitchen drain board and stove. The microwave was not plugged in and I had to climb on a chair to locate the outlet above the microwave. The clocks were not on-time, a small point but not "welcoming". The provided folded towels on the shelf in the bathroom were damp! This made me wonder how clean they were as they had apparently neither been dried in a clothes drier or in the sun. In fact the bathroom floor was very damp. I suspect there is water coursing underneath given that towels on the floor gained moisture instead of drying! The bedside lamp fixed to the wall was broken. All in all I was disappointed in the cabin.
