Designed for Enjoying and Relaxing: The main living area is drenched in sunlight, and includes an open floor plan with kitchen, living and dining area on the top floor to capitalize on the gorgeous views of Somes Sound, Acadia Mountain and the surrounding landscape. Convenience abounds with direct access from the kitchen to the large deck with outdoor seating and gas grill.
Also perched on the upper deck is a HOT TUB! A perfect spot for enjoying the spectacular views of Somes Sound and Acadia Mountain, watching the visiting deer or for soothing tired muscles after a picture-perfect day of hiking, biking, shopping, swimming or sightseeing! Summary: Great location close to everything but off the beaten path. Very quiet and peaceful which is what we like when Acadia. Lovely views of the Somes Sound. This is a rustic property and typical Maine cabin experience which we enjoy.

Summary: The photos in the listing are very accurate and give you the information you need to decide if it's right for you. There are a lot of stairs, but don't let that stop you if you can handle it. The view is worth every step; great sunrises and sunsets from the deck, yacht lights out in the bay, and no ambient light spoiling the stars at night. There are several houses around you but you hardly know it. We loved the privacy, the fox, and the deer foraging out front. Grateful we were able to get the booking and hope to return. Just FYI, in my humble opinion, best for adults/older children. Bedroom/bathroom area might be a bit too close for some people. Older model hot tub but still a luxury for those of us who rarely have access. Spotty wi-fi/cell as expected from the description but there is a landline for safety. Outstanding for a romantic get away!

Summary: We spent a week on Mt. Desert Island to explore Acadia and Bar Harbor. The cottage was close to everything we wanted to see and do and yet situated in beautiful, wooded, hillside setting with virtually no one else around. The views were wonderful, the cottage spotless, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. My husband was even able to find the Penn State game on the TV the first night after a very, very long drive. The hot tub was a bonus after a few long hikes. It was a terrific trip and a big part of that was the Acadia Cottage.

Summary: Great location. Million dollar views. Private, quiet, isolated. Deer and turkeys were the only visitors. Hot tub, deck, and fire pit got a lot of use. Well equipped and comfortable cabin. We couldn't be happier.

Summary: Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay at Acadia cottage very much. The home is perfectly situated for exploring not only Acadia National Park but the entire island. We really appreciated all the outdoor space (yard, fire pit, dock, hot tub, etc!), amazing views from the deck, and quiet! It was great to come back and relax in the quiet privacy of the Acadia after a long day of adventuring. The home had everything we needed for our one week trip.

Summary: This was a small but lovely place for our family to explore Acadia and Mount Desert Island. We really enjoyed being a little farther away from Bar Harbor on the less-crowded side of the island. It was much more our speed for the little ones.

Summary: The view from the porch says it all. This is one of the most peaceful homes that we have found on Mt Desert Island. The owners were wonderful and very gracious. The home was well stocked with dishes and some spices. There are a set of outside stairs to reach the first floor where the bathroom and two bedrooms are located. There is then another set of stairs inside to get to the living room, kitchen, and porch with hot tub. The stairs are not a problem for most people but for someone with mobility issues this should be noted. The upstairs porch is wonderful for photographers and taking pictures of the sailboats on the water. We were greeted by a doe and two fawns browsing in the yard. Overall, great stay and we enjoyed it very much.
