While the Airstream is located on the same property as our home, it is located a distance away from the house and down the hill from us. This gives it a very private spot and many guests have enjoyed the approx. 50 acres of wide open canyon views. One of our guests' favorite amenities is the Outdoor Hot Soaking Tub -- it's SO MUCH BETTER than a traditional Hot Tub because it is very sanitary. Traditional Hot Tubs reuse the same water over & over -yuk! Our Hot Soaking Tub begins with a FRESH tub of water that you control the temperature of, just like a regular tub! The Airstream's amazing view is due to it being perched on the side of a canyon. If you have a 4-WHEEL drive vehicle, you can make the drive down the gravel driveway, into the canyon and park directly in front of the Airstream. If you have a REGULAR vehicle (without 4-wheel drive), you will need to park in the designated & signed parking spot at the TOP of the canyon and transfer to a golf cart that we provide for transport down to the Airstream. ***Please note that the driveway is steep, and if you are at all hesitant that your vehicle is not 4-WHEEL drive or you are not confident in your driving skills, it will be better if you park at the TOP and take the golf cart - trust us - it will NOT be fun if your vehicle gets stuck in the canyon, and it will be towed at your expense*** The golf cart is super easy to operate (instructions are provided), great for luggage transport, and really a great & fun way to start your vacation! You of course are always welcome to walk from this point as well, if you do not wish to take the golf cart. From the parking area at the top, it is a 1 min walk to the Airstream. From the top of our driveway, walk to one of the BEST overlooks in all of San Diego county! From this spot you can see Downtown, Ocean Views, Coronado Island, Sweetwater Lake, Point Loma and the East County Mountains -- an incredible 360 degree view from the top --worth the short 20 min hike up the hill! We live on a canyon that has a VERY active coyote presence - in fact you will almost certainly see them or hear them during your stay. Pets HAVE been lost here to coyotes and they are extremely smart, crafty and fast. 2. Guests have noted allergies that are compromised by pet dander/hair. 3. We also own a small hobby farm, and our animals are easily scared by other peoples pets that they are not acquainted with and it will cause problems. :: This listing is for 2 ADULT registered guests ONLY, arriving in the same vehicle to enter the gated property. The Airbnb booking does not accommodate additional guests or visitors at ANYTIME or for ANY reason. Additional visitors to the property are not welcome and are trespassing on private property. :: Only one vehicle space is provided for the Airbnb reservation. There is absolutely no room for an additional vehicle at anytime. :: Children are not suitable for this listing, due to natural hazards on the property, and will not be allowed to stay. :: No recreational drugs, smoking or vaping allowed inside the Airstream or anywhere on the property. Guests have use of entire Airstream, the outdoor shower, outdoor soaking tub, wood sauna, patio BBQ area with table and chairs, golf putting area and corn hole game area. These areas are not shared with the hosts or any other guests. There is just 1 dedicated assigned parking spot within the gated area for the Airstream. This is strictly enforced since parking here is very limited and there is not really any street parking available that is close. Just message us through the Airbnb app. We are always available. You are welcome to come say hi and learn a little more about why we are excited to share our place with others but we will respect your privacy if you choose to have a more private stay. We like to think of our spot in San Diego as a nature lovers paradise with a view of the San Diego skyline! Because our property sits on a large canyon, there are wide open spaces for viewing wildlife, enjoying the sounds of the local wild peacocks calling to each other and soaking in the peaceful surroundings. **We do still have neighbors on the canyon top and we ask that you help keep it peaceful by observing the quiet times. If you like to hike, we have a hiking trail close to our property. It is called the Dictionary HIll Hiking Trail and takes you to an amazing 360 degree overlook of San Diego, the San Miguel Mountains, Sweetwater Lake and East County San Diego. Really an incredible spot to see fireworks too, if here on a holiday weekend. From our driveway, the hike is 20 min up the mountain (about 35 min roundtrip), it can be rocky, so bring good hiking shoes - but totally worth it to see the views! Uber and Lyft are available here. Firepit wood is available for $8 per bundle (1 bundle lasting one night). Please request in advance and let us know how many bundles you would like, and we’ll have them ready for your arrival after payment through the app. You’re welcome to bring your own if preferred. We provide a small amount of ice due to the mini fridge's limited freezer space. Golf area: Approximately 10 practice balls are provided for your use. For everyone’s safety, please use only the provided balls, as they are designed not to reach the bottom of the canyon, where another Airbnb is located. Using other balls could risk injury or property damage. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation! For your safety, avoid going beyond the gate to collect golf balls, as there are bee boxes in the canyon may become agitated.
