Positive: The view from the lounge is just amazing. Large apartment, both rooms with their own ensuite, well equipped kitchen and washer/dryer. Super quiet location and a 10min leisurely walk up to the ski resort/restaurants. Aki is a top host - easy to communicate with, no problem using luggage delivery to/from, will pick you up in the mornings to take you to the resort if you wish, helps with ski gear rental and lift passes AND even books reservations to restaurants. It's a 20min bus ride up from Iiyama to Madarao so a doable stay if you don't have a car like us. More restaurants/eateries in the area than we thought too. We did a big grocery shop at the large supermarket next to Iiyama station before we bussed up. We loved our week in January at Aki's. Even with missing out on powder!
Negative: It was tricky figuring out how to heat the bath... but we got there using google translate and that's the only thing I can think of!

Positive: At Aki’s apartment , we had a wonderful New Year ski holiday. Every morning, we could see the breathtaking view outside the window, you can sit on the sofa and enjoy the sunrise and a sea of clouds. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need. Aki is an incredibly warm and attentive host who welcomed us with great hospitality and provided all the assistance we needed. Aki’s cafe also has the best pizza!!
Negative: The nearest supermarket and convenience store are about a 20-minute drive away in Iiyama. Make sure to prepare enough food before heading up the mountain. But it’s all worth it！

Positive: Aki’s apartment looks as good as advertised. Modern furnishing - big living room with big tv, wifi provided. Kitchen is fully furnished for cooking - pots, pan, microwave, rice cooker. Beds are comfortable, with toilet ensuite in both. I love the bathtub in the main bedroom! Woke up to the lovely view every morning! Such a quiet and peaceful apartment! Shuttle to the ski location everyday, making it really easy as the place was snowing quite a bit - less stressful for us whom are not used to such snowy conditions. Aki is a wonderful and hospitable host - always there to help us when needed and giving us excellent recommendations around the area.
Negative: None, everything was perfect.
Summary: Aki is a wonderful host, making our 5 nights stay a truly memorable and wonderful holiday.

Positive: Lovely modern and tastefully furnished apartment with all the facilities you need for a short holiday with friends or family. The view was simply awesome to wake up to. Host Aki is very accommodating and helpful. The ski slopes are a 10 min uphill walk away and he can do transfers in the morning. But it is best to have a car if you are renting this apartment as it gives the most flexibility. We would stay here again next time we are in Madarao

Positive: Aki’s apartments are superb - super comfortable, very well equipped, beautifully furnished, floor heating with a magnificent view of the mountains. The accommodation was perfect for our group of 6 with enough space to relax, wifi and 10 minutes walking distance from the slopes. Our stay was made even better with Aki as our host who went out of his way to look after us in every way. Coffee at Aki’s cafe also recommended.
Negative: Nothing! It was brilliant 10/10.

Positive: Aki’s apartment is a great place to enjoy a village lifestyle. The apartment is new and modern, very clean and has all amenities you require. The view from the lounge room over the valley below is truely beautiful. Better than any TV show you’ve watched! Aki is a fantastic host, friendly and very helpful, can’t speak more highly of him. Helpful tip, Madarao is a very small village! Having a car is helpful as it allows one to explore the surrounding mountains and the closest city for everyday needs. However, Aki was happy to transport us our snow gear to the chairlifts had we needed it.
Summary: Looking forward to booking Aki’s Apartment again!
