The Space:
You may need an ALTITUDE ADJUSTMENT after booking this lodge! We aren’t sure if it’s the lake views or the cool decor, but something about this home is SPECIAL! This is a unique home that blends the feel of a cabin with the modern touches of a home. There are lake views from the living room, hot tub, front deck and even a bedroom. This home is built right on the mountain side so you will feel like you are staying in a granite boulder over looking the lake. Come see why this home has become a host favorite!
LOCATION
This home is in a very exclusive area of South shore with the famous Cave Rock located just below it. Cave Rock is notorious for being the rock you can literally drive through on your way from South Lake Tahoe to Incline Village. On your way to this home you will pass the Cave Rock hiking parking area. This short hike leads to the top of Cave Rock for some epic photo taking and sunset viewing. This home is 10 minutes to the casinos, 15 mins to Heavenly Ski Resort, 25 mins to Mount Rose Skiing, 20 mins to the Carson Valley and 10 mins or less to the beautiful Lake Tahoe.

PARKING PASSES
Douglas County requires all renters to display a parking pass on the dash of their car for the duration of their stay. They are located inside the home on the wall by the front door. Please put this on your dash immediately upon arrival to avoid a fine from the county. If the box is empty let us know right away. Reminder: we are only permitted for a certain # of vehicles to be parked in the designated areas only (garage, driveway, parking lot, etc). No street parking is allowed at rentals, per the county, regardless if you have a parking pass or not. Appreciate your cooperation with the Douglas County rental ordinance!
FYI's
- This home has an electric grill because the county would prefer rentals not have propane due to the fire risk.
- The hot tub is sort of on a ledge. The owner is working on adding a bigger space for it but in the meantime please be careful when removing the cover.
- The 4th bedroom is best suited for kids because of the very low ceilings.
TAHOE RENTAL ORDINANCE
The following laws were set forth by the county and apply to every home in Tahoe. They were put in place to keep Lake Tahoe an enjoyable and safe place to visit for years to come! :)
1. The hot tub cannot be used after 10pm (if this home has one)
2. 9pm - 8am is the county quiet time for all rentals.
3. Trash cannot be left outside and must go into the bear box.
4. We cannot host extra people or allow parties.
5. We cannot accomodate extra cars, parking on the street or dirt.
PLEASE NOTE: Neighbors may alert the police who will issue fines to guests found to be in violation. In order to protect this owner’s permit, we reserve the right to ask guests to leave if this happens.

Summary: We chose this property for its location, it’s magnificent views; photos don’t nearly capture what it looks like when u arrive. This trip is for our 25th Wedding Anniversary, opening our eyes every morning started our days with magical mornings, a fairytale beginning EVERY day! If you book in late fall or winter months be sure to rent a vehicle with snow tires or chains~it has steep inclines as u travel up the mountain. We reside in South Florida~traveling up the mountain to get to the house we were barreling a blizzard hahaha~it was AWESOME!!! What a Welcome. Beds are incredibly comfortable, the bedding is perfectly warm. Check in was sooo easy, they send you the instructions on day of arrival. It’s very simple. Everything you need is here outside of your personal items. This is our choice the next time we visit this area.

Summary: This was a great property for the views and location to other attractions but we were disappointed in several areas during our stay. There was no paper products (napkins, paper towels or tissues!) and only 1.5 rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom with 7 people for a week was not enough. Only two beach/hot tub towels! Only the exact amount of towels of our party for bath towels so we did not have clean towels to shower off and dry off after the hot tub. There were only two washcloths and one dish towel to use in the kitchen which was extremely hard for doing on the dishes by hand. The keurig did not work. Toaster oven did not work. Several of the sliding doors would not lock no matter how many times we tried. The basement room was dirty; tissue under a bed and the comforter had stains (looked like snot), long dark hairs on the white pillowcases and cobwebs everywhere. I know you said to expect spiders and critters but with that many webs above the kids beds, it was ridiculous. There were spiders on the sheets and the pillow multiple nights in a row. The rugs were very dirty throughout the house and the carpets in the bedrooms looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in some time. Several areas had thick layers of dust. The beds were very worn and extremely hard to sleep on. There was not enough comfortable seating in the living room for larger families. Bathrooms were not as clean as expected either. Big enough dining table and enough plates/silverware. Just not clean. :(

Summary: We had a nice visit in this nicely appointed home, and enjoyed the views from the deck. It is about 15 minutes from South Lake Tahoe where you can get groceries and find restaurants. The house can get hot in the late afternoon due to the western facing large windows, but they have a lot of fans. It cools down in the evening so is comfortable for sleeping. It doesn’t show on the listing, but there are beach towels and chairs, and a blow-dryer. The house is located up a very steep hillside, so the roads are also very steep. It is not great for walking in the neighborhood, but there are many hiking trails nearby including Cave Rock. We also enjoyed driving over to South Tahoe and renting e bikes for the trails there.

Summary: We loved our stay so much we texted our kids and invited them up next year. The house was easy to get to, the drive up the hill offers gorgeous views of the lake. Spacious inside with lots of lounging room. Beds were super comfy. Kitchen was well stocked - if I hadn't been outside all day every day, I could have baked some cookies. We loved every bit of our time there. The onsite team was responsive. We'll come again!

Summary: It’s unfortunate that I have to write this review on the host of this property “Grand Welcome”. Nothing is wrong with the property itself. Beautiful place & location. The host Grand Welcome and their local Lake Tahoe team however needs to be kept a close eye on. My group and I accidentally left some items behind, a few that are valuable. We checked out the morning of July 2nd, and didn’t realize till we were home that we had left some items behind while unpacking. I contacted Grand Welcome through this app on message and 4 days later no reply regarding the missing items left behind. Me and my wife gave Grand Welcome a call on July 3rd and was told the home owner and house keeper isn’t picking up their calls so we had to wait until July 6 or after the holiday for the next group to check out of this property to get an answer if the missing items were collected to lost and found. We were also told their local team or house keeper that comes and clean the property has been contacted and they will get back to us whenever there is an answer. Right now is July 6, 3:45PM and the housekeeper or whoever cleans the property should have already gave us or the main Grand Welcome an answer already. They told us earlier this morning they have contacted their “local” team to see if there has been anything turned in and there has been no response yet. 4 days later & no answers? Starting to think these missing items have been stolen by the house keeping/local GW team.

Summary: Property is so amazing and has beautiful views of the lake and surrounding landscape. Everything was perfect, very clean and spacious layout for 2 families. There was one small issue that we had and we communicated with the property management company and they were very responsive and fixed the issue the next day. Very happy with our stay and would recommend this place to anyone.

Summary: The photos don't tell the whole story of how beautiful the location is. We had a wonderful stay. Very close to popular beach attractions, restaurants, and Stateline casinos. Easy check in and out processes. We would stay again without hesitation.

Summary: It was an awesome experience and house for our stay in Lake Tahoe. The house had a jacuzzi which was amazing for the cold nights. The house had a deck outdoor patio, tons of amenities, games for the family. Full kitchen. Nice showers, some negatives was the house on top of the hill, and a little far from downtowm south Lake Tahoe. The backyard is mostly on a hill and not completely fenced in. Also the jacuzzi was a little out of the way to get to. But besides that the house was awesome and had a nice view of the lake. Overall awesome stay. Would recommend.
