5 Bedroom House in Merriweather, Bergland

Our year-round Lake Gogebic vacation rental is "shore to please" with its access to a sandy beach shore for swimming, a sauna, and amazing fishing as well as its proximity to hiking trails and waterfalls, Porcupine Mountain National Park, 585 miles of ATV trails, and 3,000 miles of snowmobile trails (braap!).
You can enjoy all the above, while staying in the coziness of our home. Our property includes
MAIN HOUSE:
–4 bedrooms (upstairs bedrooms are connected)
–2 full bathrooms with tubs
SAUNA BUILDING:
–1 bedroom with pull-out futon
–1 half bathroom with shower access in the sauna
Our property also includes: two aerobeds, washer & dryer; full kitchen with dishwasher; dining area with table; TV with cable and internet; spacious living space with all window views that lead to a large deck with tables/chairs/grill; fire pit; small bar area; dock with boat lift; 2 kayaks; stand-up paddle board; beach toys; life vests for water sports; and a large driveway for parking trailers/ATVs/snowmobiles.
The separate sauna building is very close to the main house and has a sauna, dry room (which includes hooks and shelving for snowmobile helmets and gear, as well as boot dryers during the Winter months) and bathroom mentioned above.
Maple Ridge bait shop and Timberline Sports (new and used power sports vehicles, parts & service), are right up the road and we are located two miles from Bergland, which has the Lake Gogebic Outpost Mobil, Antonio's Restaurant, Trailside Barbeque & Brew, and the Bergland Bay Bar.

Summary: Snowmobile down lake to the Hoop or the other direction to Bergland to access trails. The sauna is awesome after a day on the trails. Owner was very prompt in communications. Our 2nd stay here and definitely recommended.

Summary: Beautiful views. Very spacious. Very clean. We had a good time. Went to the big lake a couple of times and really enjoyed it. In particular, the Presque Isle River in the Porcupine Mtns. Awesome.

Summary: My husband and I came to the UP to see the beautiful fall colors and we were not disappointed. The house was clean and there was plenty of room for just the 2 of us, and definitely could have brought more guests. It was peaceful being right next to the lake, and I loved watching the ducks in the lake. We would definitely book this property again in the future.

Summary: We had a good time as usual. We made use of the fire pit, grill, paddle board and kayaks. The lake was calm most of the days. We also made our annual trip to the lake of the clouds.

Summary: It's an amazing place for kids. The sandy beach and shallow water is perfect for them to play all day. They loved the paddle board. Plus, our bigger guys love to fish so exploring the lake was great. It was also our home base for exploring the western U.P. then coming back to relax.

Summary: We were all impressed with the organization and cleanliness of this cottage on the lake. Sitting in the living room over looking the lake was like sitting on a cruise ship and seeing the water and far distant hills south. We had only one misty light rain day. We rented a pontoon boat from The Timbers Resort nearby and this vessel was well-equipped for both resting pleasure and fishing. Everyone in our family was pleased with our week at this 'Sandy Beach Cottage.' Our grandchildren and the adults enjoyed the far-out walk of sandy bottom waters! Thank you immensely for all of the amenities!

Summary: We had a great time at this rental. The hosts were very helpful, the lake was fantastic and the beach area was great for our young grandkids. Nice beds and bedrooms! One thing to note is that the bedroom with the two queens at the top of the stairs does not have a door on it (it’s hard to tell from the pictures). That worked out fine for us because the stairway is not by the main part of the house. We would definitely return!
