It’s time to sit back, enjoy the lake, and relax! Welcome to our “Anchors Away” coastal abode located in historic Van Buren Point!
Nestled on a beautiful lot just steps from the lake and several beach access points, Anchors Away is also conveniently located right next to the Van Buren Point Community Center, with community amenities such as a playground & tennis courts located right behind the cottage!
Also located only 5 minutes from Lake Erie State Park and 10 minutes from SUNY Fredonia.
As you enter through the front door, you will be greeted with an oversized living area with vaulted ceilings and tons of natural sunlight. Featuring two new reclining sofas, a flat screen TV with over 160 cable channels, and 4 foldable snack trays, spending time with family & friends in this area is the perfect way to end your day at the lake! An additional seating area on the opposite end of the room makes for a perfect place to read. This space is complete with a workspace featuring a 2-drawer desk and desk chair, along with a game cabinet full of fun games! Free WiFi.
Updated dining area with seating for 6 (or more... just grab some extra chairs and pull them over!) perfect for enjoying meals together or playing games.
Coffee cart with Keurig coffee maker and 4 beautiful beach-themed mugs. For your convenience, 5 complimentary K-Cups are included. You will need to supply any additional K-Cups that are needed. A regular coffee maker is also supplied in addition to the Keurig.
Updated fully stocked kitchen with refrigerator, electric range, retro microwave, slow cooker, 4-slice toaster, blender, electric hand mixer, and more! All plates, bowls, cups, utensils, etc. are provided! A few complimentary trash bags are provided for your stay as well.
The main floor is complete with the main bedroom featuring one queen bed, the bathroom, and a separate laundry area.
The laundry area features a high capacity front load washer & dryer with detergent, fabric softener, bleach, & dryer sheets.
The recently updated fully stocked bathroom includes bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, and a high pressure rain head shower for a relaxing way to end your day at the beach! Please note that the bathroom has two entrances; for your convenience, one entrance is direct access from the main floor bedroom.
Upstairs features two more bedrooms, one with 2 queen beds and one with 4 single cots. Please note that you must walk through the second bedroom to access the third bedroom. All beds are ready for your stay with fresh sheets & blankets. All queen beds also feature plush mattress toppers for additional comfort. Bedrooms are air conditioned during summer months.

Summary: Safe private community with lots of kids. Lake is at the end of the street, no swimming but great views for a walk or to sit and watch the waves. Play ground right out back very convenient for down time. Property is very clean. All linens and bedding provided.

Summary: Property was not as close to the beach as we thought and was not within walking distance for us but we were able to drive to another beach area. The house was adequate. No paper towels & outlets in the bathroom for a hair dryer that was the bathroom had only mirror in the house. Those were minor just minor things. Overall the stay was good.

Summary: We rented this house for a weekend at Lily Dale for a group of 8 girls, so the house was perfect for what we needed to use it for. The owner was very communicative and accommodating to our needs. I will say that the neighbors are not friendly so please be aware of that. A couple girls were bringing some items in from their car around 9, and were not being loud or disrespectful in anyway, and the woman next door yelled "shut up!" It was alarming to say the least. While the house does say that it can fit 10 people, I did not feel comfortable putting people in the one area upstairs where there the cots are located especially in the summer where there's not a lot of ventilation and the ac is located in another room. The room was very stuffy and hot so some of the girls slept on the couches downstairs. Other than that, the location was great and the bay is within walking distance. It was perfect for what we needed, just recommend some minor tweaks!

Summary: Very clean house. Our only concern was the bath tub drain was clogged. It was great to have air conditioning. There is a lot of room in the house and it was great to be close to the playground. The first floor bedroom carpet does need replaced and the refrigerator seems to be apartment size.

Summary: We like the location and layout with a nice den and dining area; however, there are a few things that need to be addressed. There were only 3 water glasses in a house designated for 10 people. The mattresses are a bit worn and could use an upgrade. There were no sponges or paper towels--little things to get you started on your stay. There is a mini refrigerator which is quite limiting for larger groups.
