Summary: Grosseto 19-7-2014 What a great holiday we had in Residenzia le Aquila Grosseto. The first day accidentally driven past the sign Aquila, so we arrived in another village. The people in that village had never heard of Aquila, and they don’t know what we were talking about. So we thought at first that we are fooled. We drive back and yes there was a small pad that goes to L’Aquila. The house had a beautiful driveway with a large fence. You looked into the valley and saw the cypress and the beautiful Tuscan countryside. The owners Ricardo and his wife Rosanna and there beautiful daughter are waiting for us already at the gate and welcome us. At the top, we were surprised. What a beautiful pool and Jacuzzi and an amazing garden. And last but not least, a large living room with 3 bathrooms, 5 bedrooms and a kitchen with all the attributes that you need. TV, Large flat screen and projector, free Wi-Fi connections. Lovely bathrooms with cold and warm running water, which quite often do not work in Italy. Usually we have no hot water to shower. But not in this house. Outside on the porch is a large table where you can easily sit with 12 people. A table made by Ricardo themselves in their favorite colors. In and around the house you will find various figures and objects, all made by Ricardo. .And if you need a massage, you should definitely be with Rosanna. It's a great area full of cypress trees, flowers and plants. Close to the nature of the Maremma. Lovely beaches and bays that you can accomplish by bike or on foot..Cars are not allowed here. But it is very worthwhile for walking or cycling. And do not forget Grosetto, which is a nice town, very nice to stay. Nice to lunch with our friend at Cafe Buffet Freddo. We strongly advice you to eat the stoccafisso (stockfish) and order the homemade pasta or drink a cup of Illy Caffé. There are lots of nice cafes where you can drink coffee, tea or breakfast with a brioche. By highway, you can easily drive to Florence, Siena and Rome. Or to visit. All the nice places in the area We definitely recommend you this address. And do not forget to pay attention to the cats….. PS: Just a pity that there were no umbrellas by the pool.
