Positive: We had the pleasure of staying here for 5 days as two couples at the beginning of June. We booked the two apartments on ground floor that have a connecting corridor, but completely separate living and sleeping spaces. The upper decking of the outdoor space is shared with the other apartments. However, there is enough space outside the lower ground apartments that makes it feel exclusive. The immaculately clean apartments had all you would need, bar a washing machine, however Klaus’ wife kindly offered to do this for us on arrival. Clothes drying wracks are available in the apartment should you wish to hand wash. The apartment is on top of a moderate hill which is a pleasant 20 minute walk into the centre of Dobriach, the lakeside leisure area and the places to eat. We managed the hill back to the apartment in flip flops and swim wear using the small holdings of ducks, chickens and pony’s along the way as a break to take in the different perspective of the lake view on the way up to Starfach. Due to the steep incline of the hill at places, pushing a pram or those with functional difficulties may find it challenging. We were told there is a taxi service, though we did not use this. Klaus welcomed us of our motorbikes at his carport that was reserved for us, with a large smile, handshake and the offer of a complimentary arrival drink with lots of additional offers of assistance. Klaus balances hosting guests with heart and mind and you can tell it is something he truly enjoys, without making you feel overwhelmed and your privacy is always respected. The serenity, lack of noise and stunning views from this apartment make being slightly on the outskirts of the bustling Dobriach worth it for the exclusivity and the sound of nature surrounding you. Would 100% recommend.

Positive: We had 2 adjacent apartments, our friends staying next door which was great. Lovely outside space and also quiet being just on the outside of Dobriach with a nice view of the lake and valley. Still within walking distance to the town and lake. Hosts great, Klaus was really helpful & knowledgeable about the area and was happy to help with anything we needed, he definitely enhanced our stay. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Negative: Small thing but it would be ideal to have a small oven in the kitchen

Positive: The view is incredible and the apartment was spacious with large balconies facing over the lake and across to the mountains. The owner and his wife welcomed us with drinks and advice and throughout our short stay treated us as old friends and not over night late bookers.

Negative: The road up to the property is a bit of an adventure for anyone not comfortable with hill driving but nothing to panic about!

Summary: Am overnight stay we wished we could have extended with the best views of our two week mountain holiday
