Summary: The flat is very central, just five mins walk from the harbour, and the balcony is absolutely amazing, worth it just for that 180 degree view of the city!! The flat was really comfortable and I would stay there again - it was so easy to get around from there, and a supermarket two mins walk away. I would say that the kitchen is underequipped - there was no freezer, no microwave, no dishwasher, no tin opener, no cheese grater, and other basics were missing too. But there were pots and pans, crockery, an oven etc. Also for some reason most of the curtains didn't fit the windows so they wouldn't keep light out, and the upstairs neighbour is incredibly noisy, often between 1-4am, several times a week. The beds are very soft so beware if you have a bad back. Other than this though, it's a lovely spacious flat with really nice furniture and we did enjoy our stay. There wasn't any communication with the property manager at all, just a key box and emails from Vrbo and the Faroese letting company about how to check in and out, and that worked ok.

Summary: We were very happy that we found this flat - it was perfect for four adults and two teenagers on a week's stay in Tórshavn. The décor is charmingly old-fashioned, the kitchen well-fitted with all we needed. There are grocery shops and restaurants very close by, and we could wash our clothes in the basement - very convenient. The flat is not very sound-proof which may be a problem for light sleepers, but the street is not very noisy, and we had no other issues. Rudi, the owner, was very helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Summary: This apartment is in a wonderful location, right in the center of town, and Rudi was an amazing host. There were a few issues that are worth making sure won't be an issue if you stay here. 1. No hot water for the first 24 hours - this was a bummer since we had been travelling and hiking. Rudi so kindly offered to have us use her home shower, but we took cold ones and the next day was ok. 2. No wifi. I hate that this matters, but I had some work I had to do, and we were with our 3 teenagers, But, Rudi was so helpful and gave us her young son's iphone to use as a hot spot. (Hope we didn't use too much data!) There's no TV here (big international politics so kindof wish we could have caught the news,) and the apartment is, as described, set in ~ 1940s, charming although a few spots might be a bit threadbare, Worth a stay for the wonderful host and location, just make sure there is hot water and that you don't care if you have a TV!
