Summary: This was the most complete house I ever stayed in. Everything was on hand in the kitchen and the bath room. The kitchen is a bit small, but the spacey living room made up for that. Nice terras with a nice view of the farm. Great location if you want to explore the black forrest for visits and hikes. A lot of villages, swimming pools, attractions to see within a one hour drive, in all directions. Participating on the farm is optional, but we recommend to take at least the full tour with Bernhard. We also recommend the farm cheese, particularly with chives or chili!

Summary: We enjoyed our weeklong stay - the guesthouse was very comfortable and private. The heating system was good and easy to control... the kitchen was well-equipped. We enjoyed visiting the farm animals, the playhouse up the hill, seeing how cheese was made and the trails in the area.

Summary: We very much enjoyed our stay at the farm. The owners were very helpful both before our arrival and after. The flat is very well equipped, with anything you might need. There are very nice supermarkets in Elzach (we went to ReWe) as well as a small shop at a petrol station close by. There is a bus stop very close to the house, in case you decide to use bus transportation. From the farm itself you can buy various things, such as eggs, cheese, various meat products, and even pasta and pasta sauce :-) Our apartment was up a few stairs, so make sure you check if that's important for you.

Summary: What a wonderful place - not just a place to stay but a place to have a true black forest farm experience for kids and adults alike. We had the best time here and will surely be going back! The actual apartment is spacious, clean and has the most beautiful views. It is a short distance from the town of Elzach. The owners are so friendly and helpful; really going out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. My kids loved helping feeding the animals, milking the cows and seeing how cheese is made - what a wonderful experience for kids. We were a short 20 mins drive from Schonach where we went sledging. I really can't praise this place enough!

Summary: A great place to stay. Three nights insufficient. Comfortable and spacious apartment. Owners Irmgard and Bernhard welcoming, helpful and interesting. Farm engrossing. Watched cows being milked and Bernhard make cheese. Consumed cheese and home cured pork. Local forest walk serene and beautiful. Much to see and do in the area. A wonderful place to stay.

Summary: We stayed for three nights in early September 2016. We loved the tranquillity of this hilly farm and enjoyed staying among the cows, chickens and sheep. The soft cowbells lulled us to sleep and the roosters gently woke us up. We used this as a base to explore the Black Forest region. The apartment was very spacious and clean, equipped with everything we needed. There were two large bedrooms, a large living area with dining table, a kitchen with table, large bathroom and a hall connecting everything. We liked the air and light coming from the skylight windows. We would stay again and recommend to others!!

Summary: Our family had a wonderful week in the Schwarzwald with this farm as our "home base". The Winterhalter family is very hospitable, our boys (ages 9 & 7) thoroughly enjoyed their time on the farm. Both Mr. & Mrs Winterhalter were very patient and generous in sharing their daily experience with them, from milking cows to making hay, feeding pigs to collecting eggs - even making butter and cheese! It was the highlight of a wonderful week in the Schwarzwald. The apartment was large, very clean and comfortable. The location was central to everything we wanted to see and the experience of staying on the farm was itself an immersive part of our visit. Overall a wonderful experience and a highlight of our trip! Highly recommended, especially for families.
