Summary: We enjoyed everything about this/ these properties. Having the second house was a great boon , but the main house itself was spacious and perfectly designed. The pool was perfect and the large gardens enabled us to enjoy ball games etc. The shaded terrace was wonderful on hot days and the patio areas perfect for al fresco dining and BBQs. Loved it all!

Summary: The property is way better than described, roomy, light with a huge garden and fantastic pool which was fenced so great if you have kids. There is plenty of tables of chairs spread out across the garden so no problem finding somewhere to relax. Kitchen well stocked and beds comfy. The 3 ensuites were ideal for us and showers all worked well. Fans in ach of the rooms kept us cool despite the 30-degree temperatures. The surrounding area was very nice, especially Carcassonne with its medieval city and swimming lake. Mountain bike trails from the house and surrounding area were good although some were very challenging and a bit scary. A great holiday and would highly recommend the property and area to all, especially families with older and younger chiildren due to the great garden and pool.

Summary: We found Eileen the owner to be very helpful and flexible, due to a family wedding we arrived a day late and were able to stay beyond the set leaving time allowing us to avoid traffic delays. The house and gite were well equipped and the gardens large. It was great having ensuites to every bedroom in the main house as well as a separate toilet downstairs. There were fans in every bedroom which was very useful although we slept upstairs and had both the balcony and the window open at night so didn't use the fans. There must have been the odd mosquito around but there were very few, over the two weeks I got about 5 bites which was very good considering our bedroom windows were open. The trees in the garden which you can see in the pictures have grown considerably and as a consequence the ground is covered with pine needles, we found we had to sweep the patio on several occasions so as not to keep trampling them into the house. WE also found that we had to keep the cover for the pool on even if we were at the house and not using it otherwise the pool got a lot of leaves and needles in it. The pool is a good size and was wonderful on hot days, our only small complaint would be the pool cover which was a pain and took two people to take on and off despite there being a mechanical winder. The winder was not up to the job and needed lots of help, because of this we used the pool less than normal as the prospect of taking the cover off was not a pleasant one. During our visit Andy and Charlotte came once a week to clean and sort the pool, they were also a great source of information on places to visit. The area is quiet and the village charming. You do need your own transport as there are no shops in the village, the nearest village is a 10 minute drive away and has a small convenience store, bakers and butchers. The best large supermarket we found was the Intermarche in Castelnaudary about 20 - 25 minutes away. Places we visited which we would recommend are Mirepoix, a lovely medieval town, has an excellent market on a Monday and a nice square with restaurants for an evening visit. We had an exception lunch at La Domaine Gayda, the food was amazing, the service exemplary and the surroundings stunning, an absolute must! Colleuire is a seaside village/town which is very picturesque, although a good two hour drive away it was worth it however it gets very busy so our top tip is leave early in the morning and have breakfast there.

Summary: This exceeded our expectations; having the second property allowed us to invite friends to stay with us in this beautiful, relatively unspoilt part of southern France. Every night we found delightful circular walks and the proximity to local markets and small towns made day trips a pleasure, when we could be bothered to drag ourselves away. We would certainly return.

Summary: The properties were all that the pictures suggested and the pool was great. Set in a lovely area of France with plenty to explore. Don't forget to try the Blanchette de Limoux, half the price as Champagne and just as good. Take a lonely planet or rough guide then you don,t miss out on where to go. A great all round family holiday . Jim Dewhurst

Summary: We spent two weeks at this property with a large family group. We thought the property was ideally suited for this as there was ample space for group activities as well as the opportunity for quiet time alone if desired. The house itself was very light and airy and the additional bathrooms were great. The property was very clean and well maintained and the large garden setting with, pool, fruit trees and ample birdlife was a really nice space to relax. Although it is not within walking distance of shops there are many choices to be made in the surrounding villages and towns. We also did some great circular walks in the very picturesque villages countryside surrounding the house. we would very happily recommend this property especially for a large group.

Summary: We can highly recommend this property. We had a large family group staying and the layout of the properties allowed areas for joint activities as well as space for those who wanted time alone. The additional bathrooms were a real bonus. We spent long tranquil evenings on the patio listening to the hooting of owlsl and other birdlife. We enjoyed some beautiful long walks through the surrounding villages and country lanes. We also spent lots of time around the pool relaxing in the lextensive garden with its abundance of fruit trees.A car is essential due to the location. Altogether a very enjoyable experience.

Summary: The two houses not adjoining but near to eachother in the same grounds were just what we needed for our famly. We could make as much noise as we liked without disturbing anyone, or enjoy the tranquiiity when the younger members were asleep. It is well and thoughtfully equipped. The open plan living accommodation is light and airy with french windows on two sides (although these are not always easy to lock). The garden is big enough to play games in. There is rich rolling countryside with the vinyards of Minervois, old hill top villages, and some delightful towns . The owners are fortunate in having a very pleasant relative living locally, who looks after the place and knows the locality. It would be a kindness to the neighbours if wifi was installed; our teenage grandson spent much of his time outside the gates of a house further up the hill where he could get on line, but the owner was very tolerant. - Paul and Val Pelham.

Summary: We had a fantastic time here at the end of September 2009. We were over for a family wedding in the village hall together with our Australian exchange student who fell in love with the place. The owners of the villa were extremely accomodating, allowing us early access to change for the wedding and making sure water was hot when we arrived for showers etc. They even gave us the number of the local Irish taxi driver, which proved invaluable. Villa was great and ideal for families, plenty space , bright and well decorated, all mod cons. Garden good size with fig trees, pine trees and swimming pool to cool down. Kids would love to go back . All in all would highly recommend the villa. Remember to stop in the neighbouring village though for provisions as no shop in this village
