Santo Antao the second largest island in Cape Verde. The landscape is unspoilt with deep valleys and tropical vegetation.
Easy to reach via the airport, on the neighboring island of Sao Vicente. There is a ferry service between the islands at least twice a day. From Porto Novo, where the ferry from Mindelo Sao Vicente docks, the Alugers ferries arrive to Cha de Igreja. You can also rent a car in Porto Novo.
The house is just before Cha de Igreja a small dreamy place, in the valley of Garca with tropical vegetation. One of the most beautiful hiking trails from Santo Antao along the sea to Ponte del Sol starts here.
In Cha de Igreja just a few minutes from the house there are small grocery stores and some simple restaurants.
The house is located above the valley in a garden of over 4000 plants planted with acacias and flowers and spice bushes. Surrounded by sugar cane fields and coconut palms, a private road leads to the house. From the house you have a view over the valley of Garza, with its rugged rocks and the bay of Cruzinha. It is an ideal place if you just want to enjoy peace and quiet without the hustle and bustle of large hotel complexes or meticulously planned tours.

The house with a living space of 140 m / 2 is spacious, with a ceiling height of over 4 m, like the old colonial buildings, guarantees a pleasant indoor climate. In the lower area, hallway, guest toilet, bedroom, bathroom with shower, warm water.
On the first floor there is a kitchen with all the necessary kitchen utensils, as well as a hand blender and expresso machine for morning coffee. In the living area a small library, German-speaking and cinematheque, radio and television. A WiFi hotspot is in the house to check e-mails and to surf the Internet, but please do not download large amounts. In the living room you can enjoy a wonderful view from the mountains to the sea. The wide window sills invite you to linger.
The roof terrace, mostly shaded, is ideal for sun worshipers, it is not visible, and you are completely on your own, two deck chairs and a small table are there,
At night, a magnificent starry sky arches over the terrace, as can only be seen near the equator. The property is entirely at your disposal. An ideal place to relax.
We, I studied industrial design in Stuttgart and my wife painter comes from Cha de Igreja, we are always available for you. Also happy to provide information about where you can get something or hikes. We live in Cruzinha just a few km from the house. We look forward to your visit.
Once a week we go to Ribera Grande for shopping, if you are interested, we would be happy to take it with us in our car, there is more food and fish and fruit available than in Cha de Igreja. It is also recommended to look for groceries in Ribera Grande on the way to the house.
