Positive: The location was perfect for us. We were traveling from the north and needing a stop before flying out of Evenes the following day. Tucked in at the bottom of Gratangen Fjord, it was a beautiful setting. Our host was very gracious. He prepared us a lovely dinner and served it to us in his large event space overlooking the water. The following morning, he made us a delicious breakfast before our departure. We had traveled to Norway to find the places where my husband’s grandparents had grown up. Not only was our host a great cook, but he also was interested in our quest and helped us find more useful information for our search.

Positive: the place was quiet and scenic. the host was amazing! super friendly and accomodating. best part was the food - dinner and breakfast were made by the host himself and it was one of the best meals I ve had in Norway (; we were traveling from lofoten to tromso and it was a good rest stop.

Positive: Lars the owner, was very kind and helpful. The room is super spacious and warm. The bed and bedding was super comfortable, had a really good night nights sleep. We only had a quick stopover for 1 night, late in, early out, but overall a good stay.

Negative: Unfortunately the restaurant was closed (wasn't aware of this prior), as it was the quiet time of the season and the only place to get a meal in the town was the super market. But Lars did offer to cook us a meal, very kind of him. Lastly the bathroom was extremely cold and without heating, not ideal for winter.

Positive: The property is uniquely situated near the bridge which makes it backdrop fabulous. Mr Lars our host was extremely helpful in making us feel most welcome. All the settings for our dinner and breakfast were well thought out. The cod fish and pork chops were excellently cooked and served. He even fried rice for us and the homemade bread was delicious!

Negative: Nothing.

Summary: Feels like home.

Positive: Lars cooked a delicious dinner for us even though we were the only tourists as the summer season was coming to a close. This is a special place because it has a special owner. We only spent one night travelling from Lofoten to Lyngen Alps, but would consider coming for longer, especially in Winter with the hottub and the big windows facing North!

Positive: Quiet location with water view from room. Good dinner and breakfast. Lars, the host/owner/operator, was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has an onsite gym and access to canoes and equipment for water activities should you wish.

Negative: Not a lot of shops or activities in the immediate vicinity. But still a relaxing and peaceful location for an overnight stay on a trip back from Lofoten to Tromso.

Summary: Quiet peaceful setting with water views, excellent host!
