Positive: The cottage is cozy and charming with a luxurious bathroom and a lovely thermostat-controlled fireplace. It was private and easy to access. Location was terrific, and we were able to park for free on the street, right by the gate. The views were exceptional, even when a big storm rolled in. The sleeping arrangements weren't clear to me beforehand, so to clarify: there's a bedroom with a twin bed, and a Murphy bed and sleeper sofa in the main room. There's a full kitchen but no washer or dryer.
Summary: So cozy!

Positive: Very clean and cozy. Looked like the bathroom and some parts were updated. Appliances worked well and the house had thoughtful supplies that were needed for the stay.
Negative: Very pricey for 2 beds to sleep on, one being a Murphy for the couple.

Positive: The location and view were fantastic, with the pier just a short walk away. The cottage itself was beautifully designed, blending charm with modern touches. The bathroom was especially nice, recently updated with stylish fixtures and finishes. It was a pleasure to stay in a place that felt thoughtfully designed and well-maintained. The convenience of being close to local attractions made our stay even more enjoyable. We’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a mix of comfort and great location!
Negative: The 10 am checkout time felt a bit early, especially with children. We ended up leaving some items behind as we felt rushed. The place itself is charming, but there are a few issues that need attention: the knobs could be tightened, there's a missing shade on the entrance door which left us with no privacy from the painters next door, and the window handle in the small room was missing (we only found it on the last day). The towels are quite worn and stained and could use updating, the tub wasn't clean, and the window sill by the bed needed dusting. Also, the streaming service wasn’t available for us to use since someone else was logged in. It’s disappointing to offer this amenity if it’s not exclusive to the cottage. Also, the cottage address was hard to find, causing confusion for both us and our food deliveries.
Summary: Our stay had its highs and lows.

Positive: Location close to facilities we needed. Beds were firm. Surface clean. Kitchen well equipped. Bathroom has big shower.
Negative: This rental has been let go. I scrubbed the shower floor because it is almost black. Still black but hopefully less germs. The drain cover is very loose. Be careful you can hurt your foot. No lock on the bathroom door. I believe all the door handles are stripped and broken. Do not open the bathroom window. We struggled to shut and lock it. A row of hooks behind the bathroom door would surely help keep clothes off the floor. The front door window has no cover. I hung a big towel on it so strangers couldn’t look in. All the white/cream wood and paint needs a fresh coat of paint. It’s chipped, dirty and stained. The two small closets next to the murphy bed are wasted to store broom and metal chairs. Guests need the storage for their clothes. There’s none in that sleeping area. Your bedding and towels are very worn out. The towels are very cheap and do not absorb well. The only condiment you had, salt and pepper, are down to a few flakes.

Positive: The property was cozy, clean, comfortable, and very beautiful - with an amazing view! Spacious kitchen that would be good for an extended stay and amazing ambience. Parking and getting in was easy, and I wish we could have stayed longer.
Negative: Beware - the actual booking price is much higher than the advertised price. I ended up paying almost $100 more than I thought I would be due to booking fees and otherwise. It ended up being worth it due to how lovely the property was, but I take off a point for that. Hopefully future listings reflect the price more honestly.

Positive: the view was as expected but better in person...and to hear the seals barking was pretty fun...it was such a close walk to the lighthouse and park/ocean via the backroad, HUGE bonus. Coffee shops, stores and restaurants were close in all directions. very easy walking distance and all within a mile+ any direction. Lots of options. Loved the old stuff in the kitchen, super fun to look in the cupboard. The whale vase was a highlight. The vents in the wall at the front of the house were a fun find.
Negative: I didn't like that there were not specific parking directions in relation to the fact that the city ordinance says you cannot park against the flow of traffic even in the gravel spot in front of the house. I actually got a parking ticket for parking backwards there, it's pretty much an unused street so the fact that they issued a ticket and not a warning to a vacation rental was maddening. I went to the city and filled out paperwork to fight it and they did cancel the ticket so that was nice. I suggest the owner/manager tell guests not to park facing the wrong way, as it's a very big deal in that city. Parking the opposite way was easier for my mom to get in and out of my car that's why I parked that way in the first place. The cleaning of cobwebs around/behind/under the furniture and in the unused areas more regularly would be appreciated, the cleaning seemed surface only.
Summary: Loved it overall, the authentic old feel, views, and so much to do was in walking distance.
