3 Bedroom Apartment in Montpelier

This sunny, beautifully decorated, fully furnished apartment is in an historic Civil War Infirmary building, part of the Sloan Hospital, and was rolled down the street from the Vermont College green in the 1870's, then fully updated with every modern convenience! The apartment is cozy during winter with loads of windows and sunshine, and cool in summer with A/C in the bedrooms if you feel you need it. The apartment includes a fully outfitted kitchen and bathroom with anything you might need. Hardwood floors add to the charm. There are 3 bedrooms - 2 rooms have Queen-size beds and 1 has a King. There is an additional cot available and one of the queen bedrooms has a couch for lounging on and can serve as a living room too. The landing area has loads of books and games, and I always put in special stuffed animals and toys suited to the ages of visiting children. Our backyard has a spectacular view of Camel's Hump and the valley with the capitol building and downtown. We welcome guests to sit and enjoy cocktails at sunset or have a barbecue. (Just ask so we can coordinate with our other guests.) The house is walking distance to downtown, very near the college green and VCFA campus, and many area attractions and resorts, including Stowe, Sugarbush, Trapp Family Lodge, and Bolton Valley (all 30-40 minutes drive). Kellogg Hubbard Library in town holds many events for kids, a local rec center has tennis courts, several ball fields and a pool. There is a reservoir for cookouts and swimming in summer, and many rivers and streams to play and fish in right in town. We have kayaks, nordic skis, snowshoes, and other sporting equipment we are happy to share. Montpelier is a great central location for day trips, and we are happy to be your guide. Check out the Montpelier Alive schedule and the city website, as well as Lost Nation Theater. Burlington and Lake Champlain are a 35 minute drive, and hiking trails are 20-30 minutes away to Camel's Hump and White Rocks/Hunger Mountain trailheads. The city circ bus stops regularly in front of the house and will quickly bring you to pick up groceries. We have two movie theaters in town as well! This is truly your home away from home!

Summary: We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment - a real slice of historic Montpelier. Beth, the owner, was vey welcoming. Unfortunately, we had to shorten our stay, but Beth was very understanding and accommodating in this.

Summary: Lovely historic lodging in nice neighborhood and close to town. Beth greeted us on our arrival. So friendly and helpful. Beautiful garden and sitting area to enjoy the valley view and sunset. Easily walkable to town. Comfy beds. Would have enjoyed a sitting area to gather but the weather was wonderful so we spent a lot of time outside. Next time I hope to ask Beth more about the history of this building. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Summary: Very nice, clean place, but there's a couple things that need to be clear in the ad. There's no washer/dryer, the owner offered to do laundry for a really high price. Three bedrooms but, effectively, one parking spot. And there's no real common area, one of the bedrooms is the only place to gather. Good location, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Summary: Rented the 3BR which was perfect for a friend and I, and would have been comfortable for 6 easily. 15 min walk downtown and 30-35 to Stowe. Would recommend!

Summary: I spent two days with my kids (18 and 20 years) at Beth's place and had great time! Very conveniently located in Montpelier, allows for easy access for a bunch of ski resorts as well as the convenience of being in a city with good restaurants. Beth was just fantastic from the minute we booked the house. She waited to show us the house, which is very convenient for a group (3 spacious bedrooms). We had no trouble at all and really enjoyed our stay at Beth's place, and she checked in daily with us to make sure everything went well. I would highly recommend Beth's place!

Summary: Very easy stay in a home away from home. We skied Stowe every day and the 1/2 hour commute to Montpelier gave our teenagers just the right amount of time to regroup before getting back to Montpelier to rest up for another Fay of skiing. The owner keeps this historical home very clean and cozy for our family of four to rest, read, cook and sleep for a very enjoyable week of play: snowshoeing, skiing in Stowe. Thank you.

Summary: This property is ideal for families or couples, as there are 3 bedrooms, 2 with queen size and 1 with king size bed. We thought there would be a living room area, so the space was tight for us ( 5 single women). The owner was very responsive, and the location is ideal if you're wanting to spend time in downtown Montpelier.
