Finally many sites the Cher, the Indre River (Beauval zoo) of the Creuse (Museum Jacques Tati) or the Allier (forest of Tronçais - Museum of costumes the Paris Opera and the Comédie Française) are accessible in the day.

Summary: We loved this home and town and wish we could have stayed much longer. The hosts were so kind to all of us and will be friends for life. The home was so clean and had everything and more than we needed. It was a wonderful treat too have access to a wash machine after traveling with a family for so many days.

Summary: We stayed for two weeks and were enormously impressed by the property. The photographs don't do it justice and we have never been in such a well equipped and well finished property before, but the "piece de la resistance" is the magical garden. The owners, Julie and Nicole, were charming and helpful, and great wine connoisseurs. The location is excellent for the eastern Loire valley and the area is rural and beautiful. Lignieres itself has a market, great boulangerie and three nice restaurants. We had a really lovely time and we certainly hope to return!

Summary: The house was perfect for us, lots of space, beautifully furnished and equipped with everything needed, including lots of information material about the area. Julie and Nicole were extremely friendly and helpful. The garden was great to relax in the hot weather. Very recommendable!

Summary: We have visited several times now and as always the house is very clean and comfortable and the hosts are welcoming and very helpful. It's just a few steps from the centre and the town is great, it has everything we need and more. Cafes, bars, restaurants, supermarket, petrol, chemists, bakers, weekly market, theatre etc.etc. Thank you once again Julie and Nicole, we had a wonderful week and it was great to see the donkey fair this time too.

Summary: This is the second time we have stayed here in this cottage in Lignieres, it is very good quality, clean and comfortable.The owners Julie and Nicole are lovely, helpful but not intrusive. The cottage is situated an easy 2 minute walk to the bars, restaurants, shops and market square of this pretty little town on a river. The town is in a great situation to explore the area. We visited beautiful cathedral and churches, saw lots of wildlife on the way to other pretty towns around, went to a couple of brocantes, did a bit of shopping etc.etc. We were a bit limited this time with an 80 year old dad in tow but found plenty to do for our 5 day stay, and enjoyed a couple of late evenings out too, yes there is a bit of life in this small town in the evenings too. There are other activities in the area such as canoeing and cycling. Maybe we will try some of those activities next time and there will definitely be a next time.

Summary: A really lovely gite, beautifully furnished, super clean and very close to town to walk to the shops market and restaurant. Nicole and Julie the owners were really friendly and helpful but not intrusive and provided lots of little extra touches such as fresh juices in the fridge. I would have no hesitation in staying here again and hopefully soon.
