Athena is a charming studio, homestead cottage high on the hill within gated Hidden Passage. Relax on the covered private patio with “to-die-for” mountain, canyon views. Amenities include a BBQ, a fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom with shower, queen bed with memory foam mattress, smart TV, air conditioning and heating. And a carport for your car. Pet friendly.
Enjoy spectacular star gazing, relaxing by the ranch's pool, leisurely walks and adventures in a pristine natural environment completely surrounded by protected Wilderness Area.
A mountain-water, infinity seasonal pool (swimming season is usually April thru September, based on night temperatures) with spectacular 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains anchors the ranch. The pool is shared among 5 cottages and is open year round for sunning in the lounge chairs when it is too cold to swim.
As a guest in our cottage, you are welcome to explore and enjoy our amenities at your leisure. Swim and lounge in our spectacular crystal-clear infinity pool with awesome 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains, enjoy the dark skies for breathtaking star-gazing, or enjoy a scenic hike through one of our many exhilarating dog-friendly hiking trails. The mountain-water feed infinity pool for Panorama Pass Guests. The pool with 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains is open year-round for poolside lounging in the sun, even if the water is too cold for swimming. The solar heated swimming season starts when nights warm in Spring and usually goes through late Fall. Note: Due to weather conditions, in winter months the pool shade sails may be taken down.
Hike. Hidden Passage Guest Ranch is in a secluded 130-acre canyon – an island within the Sand to Snow National Monument - with miles of unforgettable hiking trails right outside your door. Both leisurely walks around the village property to advanced serious all-day hikes. Will rarely see a soul . . . unless our own guests. (Trail map in Apollo Community Center.)
High degree of privacy, the cottages spread across 25 acres so no worry about “too close” quarters. At the same time there is a community center, coffee café to hang out, meet others, get information about the area.

Summary: The hosts were great about providing information ahead of time regarding access and even some points of interest. The dirt road off the highway is a bit rough for a vehicle that isn't used to driving dirt roads, so it took us about 10-15 minutes to drive up to the front gate from the highway. We stayed in the Athena cottage, which is basically a studio cabin. Perfect size for my partner and I. The kitchenette was sufficient for us to be able to cook full breakfast and dinner. The air conditioning was a wonderful welcome from the outside heat. We hiked around the property using the provided map and stopped at the pool for a dip. Of course being in the desert, the insects wanted to join us. We had a great time in the peace and quiet of the property and found it located close enough to town that it wasn't too inconvenient if we needed to go pick something up. We will definitely recommend and return.

Summary: This one-room cottage was adorable and unpretentious with a perfect mix of rustic elements—wood-fired stove—and mod cons—AC and microwave. The bed was very comfy and they even have a flatscreen TV with streaming access. But the remarkable thing is the view. You’re looking down at the canyon and the horses and all you can hear is the wind and birds. I came here to work and it was very productive as well as restorative. Very well managed!
