Positive: The location is peaceful and very easy to get Lancha to and from! You just stand on the jetty and flag them down.
Negative: I would not stay at the Atitlan Studio room again. The resort itself is ok but the room we stayed in really wasn’t worth the money and needs urgent repairs. Firstly the room - although it was clearly clean, there are so many gaps and holes in the walls, ceiling and doors that we had countless bugs, spiders and even a scorpion. If you don’t mind that then it’s ok. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and small for 2 people - so bad that we actually ended up leaving a night early. I get the impression that this room has been very neglected, with the attention and care put into the other rooms. I would stay at this property again but would absolutely not stay at the studio again. There are old, mouldy and dusty grates through the kitchen and bathroom (pictures attached). No aircon and only a small fan. Also, on the door there is a sign saying “we are doing renovations next door thank you for understanding” but this was not told to us when booking and I can imagine it gets loud sometimes- this needs to be clearer for people booking. The resort itself is ok but very limited in space and things to do. There is no pool and the spa is very very small. They have one kayak but it was in good condition. The restaurant is extremely limited in choice and is very expensive. If you are happy to eat the same thing most days or you are only eating once or twice it’s fine. However, at night there are so many bugs around the restaurant that we found it hard to enjoy it. Overall, the room we had was hugely disappointing and really management need to focus on fixing it up asap. The other rooms look much nicer and I would recommend booking one of those.

Positive: We really enjoyed our stay. The view of the lake and the volcano is amazing. The treehouse was a great choice :)
Negative: The Wi-Fi in the rooms could be much better. Unfortunately, we didn't have a SIM card, so we had to rely on Wi-Fi. & The sun loungers that were still available are very flimsy.

Positive: This was such a fabulous location with stunning views over the lake and volcanoes. We stayed in the loft apartment and it was amazing. Every little detail of finish and the bay window to sit and look at the view. Loved the swing on the deck and the kayak and paddle board first thing in the morning.
Negative: Nothing.

Positive: Every room is unique and special. We were lucky enough to be able to stay in two different rooms and both were great with amazing views of the lake and of course the sunset. The staff were super friendly and the restaurant was first rate. The hot tub overlooking the lake was a prefect spot to take in the sunset and the sauna was also a real treat.
Summary: Wonderful relaxing spot to experience Lake Atilan.

Positive: Amazing views. I visited a few towns on the lake and the view from the lodge was superb. I stayed in the studio and the view was great as well. The studio is well furnished and pretty comfortable. The studio was slightly dated. But not in a way that would make your stay uncomfortable. As long as you dont expect ritz carlton, you will enjoy your stay. There was a bit of noise occasionally as the accommodations are close to each other but i actually slept really well.
Negative: the restaurant was ok. Both breakfast and dinner were fine but not outstanding by any means. Same for drinks. My margarita contained some form of sparkling liquid.... and was too sweet. definite skip. but the micheladas were good.
Summary: Fantastic view (some of the best views on Lake Atitlan), reasonable prices.

Positive: The view is stunning over the lake and volcano. It is really nice and quiet. The renovated rooms were really nice - with a good view and modern, simple décor. It is right on the lake so perfect to swim in the lake right on the doorstep. You can only eat at the hotel restaurant, but it is really delicious and would highly recommend.
Negative: It is very isolated and there is only the hotel there - you need to flag down a boat to go anywhere and that would be quite impossible at night time as you have to go by boat. The only thing that I didn't love was that there is no reception at the property so it wasn't that easy to navigate practical things like one of the beds not being made up - and they just gave us our sheets to make up ourselves.
