3 Bedroom House in Santa Cruz La Laguna

We have a lakefront property with a private dock, large deck with a Palapa roof over the lake. The house is a large 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom modern villa. Magnificent views of the lake and volcanoes.
The Palapa over the lake is one of the most unique features of this property. Ideal for weddings, parties, yoga, or just lounging in the sun. It consists of a 1000 sq ft deck with a palapa roof over half of the deck, providing ample sun and shade. Deck furniture, lounge chairs, hammocks and swings.
The house is a grand villa with huge bay windows looking out over the lake from the living room, dining room and bedrooms. There are three very large private bedrooms, each complete with a private bathroom consisting of double vanities, shower and tub. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, while the two guest rooms consist of 3 beds each (1 King sized, 3 doubles, and 2 can be rearranged to suit your needs). The house also has a fully equipped kitchen, patio, dining room, living room, and meditation room. Perfect for groups of couples, families, or individuals. The house can comfortably sleep up to 12 guests.
The house has a beautiful yard with palm trees, plenty of outside sitting and hammocks, outside furnished patio, lakeside hot tub/jacuzzi, WiFi Internet access, hot water, and a full kitchen with appliances.
Our house sits on the main lakefront path that runs from Santa Cruz to Paxanax. There are hotels and restaurants to enjoy within a 10 minute walk from our home. You can also reach any of the other villages around the lake for day trips by boat. The first public boats begin by 6 AM while the last ones return at 5:30 PM. Private boats can be arranged to pick you up or drop you off at our private dock at any time.
Enjoy the spectacular views of Lake Atitlán and the volcanoes while relaxing in comfort at Casa de Larry. We offer the perfect place for you and your guests to experience the wonders of Lake Atitlán.
Guest Access:
Guests renting the house will have full use of the entire house, yard, palapa deck, and private dock. We have a small casita behind the house where the onsite caretakers live.
If needed, we can recommend private shuttle transportation from the Airport in Guatemala City to the docks of Panajachel and a private boat ready to take you to our private dock. The cost is usually about $150 for the private shuttle for 6 people from Guatemala City and $20 for the private boat. My son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sarah, are live in caretakers who live in the casita behind the main house part of the year. They will greet you when you arrive and be glad to answer any questions you may have about the property and the surrounding lakeside. Part of the year, we will have a property manager/housekeeper/cook Elena who will be available to assist.
The Neighborhood
Our house sits on the main lakefront path that runs from Santa Cruz to Paxanax. There are hotels and restaurants to enjoy within a 10 minute walk from our home. Getting Around
The only way to arrive to Santa Cruz is by boat. If you arrive by car you can easily leave it parked in a secure car park in Panajachel called Kayucos Marino for 100Q a night, located right next to the public docks to Santa Cruz. Public boats run from the docks in Panajachel every 20 minutes and service all the villages from Panajachel to San Pedro. The rate for a public boat from Pana or San Pedro is Q25 per person, while a private boat can be negotiated for around Q150.

Summary: Absolutely amazing! I’ve never once gotten to a VRBO or other rental and said to myself: “holy s&@t, this place is far better than advertised.” From the spaciousness of the home and outdoor areas, to the lush gardens, to the sauna and hot tub, and to the absolute best location and view on the lake (you’re looking out across the lake right in the middle of the two main volcanoes) this property never ceased to impress us during our stay.

Summary: Beautiful and peaceful location with views of volcanoes and lake! I loved that any question I had, was answered quicly. We lost lights the second day and we were given steps on how to turn on the generator! This is our second time at Casa de Larry and we enjoyed our stay there. I will definitely stay there again!

Summary: We loved staying at Casa de Larry! What a unique place to stay and visit. Our stay in Santa Cruz will be the most memorable of our entire Guatemala journey. The host was very responsive and also helped us in some ways to navigate the country even away from the house. The house was like it was described in the listing with many places to relax and it was just a short walk to the main dock in Santa Cruz. My only regrets were that we didn't book a few more days and that we chose a hazy time of year to come. The view across the lake wasn't as nice as the pictures, but nothing can be done about the weather.

Summary: Everything was great. We were only 5 people but the house could easily fit more, so there was plenty of room for us to spread out. The housekeeper cooked us a few meals and did laundry which was a nice option and reasonably priced. Having a private dock allowed us to have a private boat drop us off with our bags right at the house. The outdoor and lounge areas were great too. Highly recommended.

Summary: Casa de Larry is perfect for a relaxing escape from daily life. Eleven of my close friends and family and I enjoyed our stop at Atitlan along our trek across Guatemala. Casa de Larry afforded ample space to socialize in every setting on could seek. Soaking in the sunset and stargazing from the spacious deck and playing cards in the groovy lounge were favorite experiences at this exceptional property, enhanced with lavish gardens and exquisite views, with all the conveniences of home. The private dock made transport to Panajachel easy and the jacuzzi soothed all of our muscle aches from daytime hikes. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. Highly recommend.

Summary: This is a wonderful place to enjoy the beauty of the lake. It’s totally comfortable with beautiful gardens and views. The kids loved jumping off the dock and swimming. Elena, the housekeeper, is a great cook which was much better than going to restaurants. It was easy to get around. Lots of cozy places to read a book and relax. I would highly recommend staying here!
