Positive: Great value for money. Fantastic gym at the Avani (interestingly it is better than the nearby Anantara gym). Nice to be able to share some facilities with the Anantara. Staff is very friendly.

Negative: Sometime service can be slow but made up by the fact that everyone was so friendly and genuinely wanted to be helpful. Maybe I’m just impatient 🥲

Positive: Swimming pool, shower in the room, lovely pillows and comfortable bed.

Negative: We as to clean our room after we drop glass bottle on the floor and have a lot small glass around the room. We requested 3 times clean the room because every time they left glass in the room and we still find the glass after third cleaning. I think it's important to react from the first time because it's glass. I informed the receptionist about the incident and asked if you would like to clean the room??? Really what they think?

Positive: ⸻ Ayubowan! Another one of our reviews is for the Avani Kalutara Resort. We have visited many places and continents, staying in both five-star and four-star hotels. For the first time in my life, I can honestly say one thing: in this hotel, several times our wishes were fulfilled before we even managed to say them out loud. We have never experienced anything like this anywhere else. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. You can truly feel that they perceive you and try to anticipate what you might need… Incredible!! We must also express our sincere thanks to Mr. Rishman Doole, who helped us a lot when my partner got sunburned. He immediately arranged for healing products to be delivered to our room. Thank you very much! 😊 We also have to mention the cooking classes. A wonderful experience, during which—under the guidance of Mr. Nipuna Laksan—we cooked amazing Sri Lankan food, and the experience was unique. Our guide during the cooking was Mr. Hashan, who revealed to us the secrets of the local cuisine. For us, it was truly a special experience. The only slight negative is one of the hotel’s tuk-tuk drivers — I believe his name is Mr. Jambo. A typical driver who offers you cheap transportation and then takes you to tourist traps (herbal garden, river safari) where he gets commissions and everything is overpriced (you can arrange it much cheaper). Be careful with him — don’t go anywhere with him or it will cost you several times more. The transportation price is not everything. Otherwise, this hotel provided a truly exceptional experience! We will definitely recommend it to all our friends who travel to Sri Lanka.
