Summary: I was a bit disappointed upon arrival to see the green algea covering part of the lake at the shore line. I really thought we could swim, but it wasn't to be at the house. After seeing the lake in the morning sun, I could see the beauty of the natural setting. It was stunning at sunrise and at sunset. We did get to see a Great Blue Heron fishing in the algea as well as some ducks and turtles. There was every kitchen gadget available for cooking and eating, with the exception of a ice cream scoop! We had a good time eating and drinking in the house, while admiring the lake. For anyone who cooks, there is an impressive number of herbs & spices in the kitchen as well. The downstairs bath could use a small sink, rather than our guests using the washtub for washing faces & brushing teeth. The linens on the beds are worth mentioning. They are absolutely beautiful quality. The location to Alpena and the sites was perfect, not too close and not too far. We enjoyed the beach and museums in Alpena as a family. We did use the party store right down the road from the house. It was perfect for water bottles and a few forgotten ingredients.

Summary: Property had a nice layout. Outdoor seating by water was wonderful for enjoying late meal and sunset. We had a great time using all the kayaks and were able to all go with our 4 kids. Was a bit close to neighbor, but we never heard or saw them.

Summary: It was exactly what we needed. A quiet place to relax and enjoy our time together. The fishing was great. The size of the house worked perfectly for our family. The house had everything we needed other then the blow dryer. It really was a lovely place to stay. Thank you!! We would totally stay there again.

Summary: Beautiful quiet location!!! We appreciated the spacious well stocked kitchen and loved the covered patio where we enjoyed all our meals. There were plenty of outdoor chairs for enjoying the lake views or using around the fire pit. All basic cleaning and paper products were provided. The kids and grands had a great time kayaking and enjoyed the big yard area to play games. The only slight negative was the downstairs bathroom with toilet and shower is very small and there is not a sink area besides the utility sink in the adjoining laundry room. This wouldn't stop us from staying again, it just good to be aware that it is a bit inconvenient. The property owner was wonderful to work with and you can tell they did their best to have everything you might need for your stay. And the icing on the cake was hearing the loons everyday!

Summary: Our family really enjoyed this house. It was very roomy with plenty of space to spread out. Air conditioning worked great and we loved using the kayaks and canoe. The appliances were brand new and easy to use. We appreciated the supplied fishing gear. The second floor lake view was perfection. Tv was super easy to use for the short time we watched it. Hard to spend much time watching tv with full lake access in the backyard. Ten minute drive to town for groceries but felt like you were a world away.

Summary: The home was beautiful. The view from the patio of the water was so relaxing. We’ve stayed in multiple houses through VRBO and this was by far the most amazing stay we have ever had. The extra little touches were a surprise. Well stocked and organized home. So clean and well kept. And did I mention the Lake and kayaks, such a wonderful time was had.

Summary: We feel like we made the most amazing memories with our family this past week! Our 6 year old grandson caught 6 fish off the dock for his very first time fishing with bait! Our 4 year old granddaughter enjoyed all the wildlife! The kayaks and life jackets were also a hit! The covered back patio was so relaxing and we saw loons, ducks and their babies, and a great blue heron. We rented a pontoon for a day and traveled around the lake and made more precious memories! Everything was well stocked and super clean! You won’t regret staying here and enjoying all that this property and Michigan offers! Will definitely be returning in the future!
