Positive: What makes this place special are the owners, Pietro & Angela are great hosts, making you feel very welcome and almost like at home. Pietro is passionate about promoting Aragona, before he showed me the room he already shared the important decorative elements in the corridor of the building :). He has created a map of the most important things to discover about Aragona, with plenty movies that he is willing to share if asked. I also had a great dinner at the recommended Olimpia restaurant and a selection of local sweets in Europa bar. Delicious Italian breakfast with cornetto, freshly made coffee and home made gelsi :) Other than that, I stayed in a small & simple single room, yet with all that you need for a comfortable stay - very well working air conditioning, bedroom window, spacious bathroom even with a washing machine.
Summary: Heartwarming hosts, great hospitality and a quiet location to take a break from crowds.

Positive: It was wonderful to get out of the big cities and meet real Sicilians. Aragona is filled with dozens of hidden points of interest. Totally surprised me. Thanks Piero and Angela. Too bad my Italian isn’t better because there was so much to talk about!
Negative: I didn’t like the Olympia restaurant that was in walking distance. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing?

Positive: Myself, my husband and my 15 year old son have just stayed at B&B Macalube that is situated in Aragona, a short drive from Agrigento and Scala dei Turchi. The hosts, Pietro and Angela are incredible, caring and attentive to detail. The rooms are clean and there are choices of double and single rooms. The latter room isn't small and has a decent sized living area and a shower room with a washing machine that is ideal for a family. During our stay, Pietro took us to see some local archaeological and ecological landmarks, such as the olive tree that might date back to the times of the Romans. For those who drive and may be using their own transport, this is an ideal location since you get free gated parking. The B&B is located almost at the entrance to Aragona so one can easily drive in and out without having to drive through the centre of town; however, there is a Supermarket around 100 metres away so it's very convenient, a pharmacist is also a short stroll away. Those with young children can take their kids to a nearby play area that's open till late. Good restaurants that won't break the bank in Aragona include the Sperdicchio, Bar Naselli, Bar Europa, Bar Olympia and Maccalube. Places worth a visit include the parish church, Naselli Palace, across the square and many other religious, natural and secular sites.
Summary: Good size clean rooms, air condition, balcony, washing facilities, free wifi, superb hosts
