Positive: My room was ok. The staff who served breakfast was nice and kind (and the breakfast itself was good).

Negative: I cannot conceal that I was not positively impressed by the staff at the reception desk: not that I didn't get the services I had paid for, but: 1) it looked like they were a little annoyed by the need to check us in; 2) on the check out date, I asked if I could leave my car parked in their private parking, until 12.00 a.m. / 1.00 p.m., but they denied my request, since they said they had other guests coming. I respect their denial, because check out time was 11.00. That said: A) It's hard to agree with their motivation, since check in time at B+B York is at 15.00; B) Typical British etiquette (but I'd say anywhere in the world), when denying a client's request, is to say you are sorry and pretend to be sorry. Unless I missed some (very subtle) hint, none of it happened.

Positive: Very central to everything in the centre of York, basic but comfortable B&B, most of the staff were friendly and helpful, had to pay for parking but I would think that's probably expected when you're so close to the centre.

Positive: The staff were all friendly and professional, hotel was very clean and airey. The room was clean and felt fresh, the bed was comfortable and warm enough. Breakfast was served quickly but we didn't feel rushed. Approximately a 10/15 minute walk to York Minster and the main town. A bonus was we were able to leave our car in the car park from 11am on day of arrival, meaning we could leave our belongings there and explore before being able to check in as we arrived much earlier than 3pm.

Positive: Great place to stay, good parking facilities in b and b grounds.15 minute walk from city centre, which is a massive bonus. The room we stayed in was nice and clean. The staff were very helpful and engaging, nothing was too much for them. Would definitely go back there again. If yours thinking of going to York for a holiday, look this place up, you won’t be disappointed.
