Positive: Being surrounded by tranquility and nature - just wonderful. Barnell Cottage has the most beautiful and unique gardens, a landlady who is an absolute jewel, three adorable pets.

Negative: There is nothing I could not have liked. I enjoyed every minute.

Positive: Basic but perfectly adequate breakfast - scrambled eggs were excellent. Quality of house and fittings all high quality. Owner Eileen is one of the most thoughtful and interesting people you could wish to meet.

Negative: The rough potholed driveway didn't suit my low-slung car - one of those SUV buses would have been ideal, but then you wallow about on the highway! Arriving in teaming rain in the half light didn't aid my cause one little bit. I read the warnings, no complaints - my choice of transport wasn't compatible but I can still hear the metallic scraping sound as I traversed the first big rut!
