Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Balsam Resort and plan to go back! Our room was on the second floor of the main (old) building and had a terrace with a beautiful view of the lake. The terrace faced away from all the cottages and was wonderfully quiet and private. The room was a little shabby but was clean and had a well-equipped kitchen with everything we needed for a long weekend stay. The beach was steps away with plenty of lounge chairs and picnic tables and lots of room to relax in the shade when the sun gets too hot. Our Canada Day long weekend visit included a performance by a live band (!) and a terrific fireworks display. I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway within 2 hours of the city - and no Hwy 400 traffic!

Summary: I was pleasantly surprised to see how amazing Balsom Resort is. My family all had a blast, especially the kids (9 & 2). There is kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, paddle boards, and even a water bike all free to use for hotel guests. Nice clean bbq stations covered so you can cook in the pouring rain. Firewood is all supplied at the community fire pits daily also. I cannot wait to go back.

Summary: Mattress was bumpy not able to sleep both night. Door locked ck was not properly secured as other person by mistake entered in our room Overall excellent location, quite, relaxing, helpful staff

Summary: Stayed for one night, wish we were able to stay longer. Our room was steps away from the lake so we had an amazing view. The room was very clean and was better than we were expecting. We could have cooked a meal if we wanted, had a full size fridge, microwave, stove etc. The grounds were well kept with a nice sandy beach. We would have taken advantage of the fire pit but unfortunately it had rained. Owner was very nice. We will definitely be returning.
