Positive: This place was just amazing, a perfect combination of rustic charm and modern comfort. Gorgeous setting, right on the beach but sheltered by plenty of palms and casuarina trees. There's a lovely shaded porch looking out over the sea, where you could sit for hours. The rooms are spacious with good air-con and comfortable beds. Our bathrooms were actually outdoors, so you could look up and see the sky... but there was hot water (probably solar) for the shower. Given that the Bamboo restaurant was the only food option (without getting a taxi somewhere else), we were pleasantly surprised by both the variety and the quality of the menu. Breakfast was especially good. Meanwhile, the staff were just amazing - helpful and friendly without being obtrusive. And the whole place is ecologically aware. For instance, the rooms have refillable glass bottles of drinking water, not plastic bottles.

Negative: The location is quite remote, so once you're at the resort, you're sort of stuck there. However, the manager (who was incredibly helpful) got us a taxi who took us on a half-day trip around the island including to Duang Dong, the main town. The road leading to the resort is rutted dirt... very dodgy... it will make you worry about what might be at the end! So you'll be pleasantly surprised when you finally get to the resort.

Positive: Amazing place, a little paradise on Phu Quoc Island, far from mass tourism. The beach was cristal clear, clean, and it was so peaceful. I even extended my stay because I loved it so much there. The food is excellent and the staff is always nice and helpful.

Negative: Food is a little pricey, and one bungalow does not have screens for the mosquitoes. But all and all, still loved my stay there. And I was put on a new bungalow my two last nights.

Summary: Little piece of heaven, would love to come back

Positive: The beach that bamboo cottages sits on and is stunning. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to swim. The main food menu was good. If you were looking for a remote place to perhaps write a novel and be left alone, then I would recommend this place.

Negative: I feel like the service needed some improvement - we waited for service on numerous occasions and often empty plates were left on tables for ages which attracted a lot of bugs which when eating outside, I was eaten alive by the ants and no even eco solutions were in place to help deal with the ants, they got everywhere. The place also seemed like it needed some gentle music and some additional beach furniture to create a more relaxed atmosphere and ensure people could lay in the sun after a swim. Not an issue for everyone, but the beers were not cold and there was not a lot of options. It is also down a really rocky road which some taxi drivers were not happy about driving us down.

Summary: Good for a remote retreat from society, but if you are after any atmosphere, I'd look elsewhere

Positive: Family-owned environmentally conscious business. Excellent beachfront location 3kms walk through forest from Grand World Vinbus stop. Free buses ply between Airport & Grand World holiday park @ frequent intervals. Delicious vegetarian food. Facility very clean & comfortable. Staff very engaged & helpful & owner introduced herself day 1 & checked whether I needed anything. Have been on the move for 2mths & in my top 5 stays!

Negative: Nothing!

Summary: Excellent beachfront accommodation, delicious vegetarian meals & very engaged & helpful staff. Highly recommend

Positive: We had a magical time here! From beginning to end, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding, and the location was truly unmatched. I highly recommend staying at this eco haven. The photos do not do it justice!

Negative: It would be great to have some organic or natural bug spray available during dinner—I got lots of mosquito bites in the evening. I'd also suggest adding a bath mat to make the stay more comfortable.

Positive: We loved our stay. Spacious and comfortable cottage right on the seafront , delicious food and really impressive peaceful location with a beautiful private beach. It's away from any craziness on the island, but we were happy to rent a motorbike and explore a bit the North of the island.

Positive: I love this place so much. It is a calm and unspoilt part of the island and easy to get to awesome sunset beaches from here. The food is amazing with a lot of vegetarian options, the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are wonderful, especially with the sea views with the sea lulling you to sleep and the little gardens in front.

Positive: I had a wonderful time staying at Bamboo Cottages. My friends and I visited for a week. The resort itself is beautiful, sitting right on the beach. The staff is extremely attentive and helpful. The accommodations were clean and spacious. The food is excellent. In short, Bamboo Cottages had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation in Phu Quoc. It is a far cry from the mega resorts on the other end of the island, but in my view that's a very good thing.

Negative: There was some trash that would wash up on the beach, although this is not in the resort's control. They did, however, do their best to keep the beach area clean.

Summary: I had an amazing time at Bamboo Cottages. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet resort.

Positive: I travelled to Bamboo end of April. Climate was very hot, the ocean water was about 30 °C. I took a 3 nights break during my working time in HCM. Bamboo is located about 1 hour drive during the day and 20 minutes early morning from the airport in a very calm small beach in between nature. The staff is very friendly and helpful, you directly feel that they intend to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The private beach of the cottage is clean, though there will always be some plastic coming from the ocean. This should remind all of us to reduce our consume of one-way plastic. The staff takes care to keep the environment as clean as possible. Unluckily there is much rubbish beside the cottage, even on the beach part next to Bamboo. The rooms are very nice in a gorgeous cottage style, everything is available. It is a very good price-performance level. The restaurant offers various dishes, the ones I had were very tasty. There are tables on the terrace or even one the beach for having the feet in the sand while enjoying the meal. It is possible to directly rent a motorbike for a reasonable price. It is 1 hour down to sunset town or to Sao Beach, 30 minutes to Starfish Bay. Driving on the island is pretty easy as there is not much traffic. All in all, a perfect place to relax and enjoy!!! Thanks a lot to Bamboo for this excellent time.
