Positive: The hotel upgraded our room for our honeymoon and my what a view!! The hotel was luxurious, rooms massive, loved being able to sit next to the window on the lounge and the bath also having a view, plus the different scents in the oil burner each day. We also booked last minute another night and the hotel kindly let us stay in the same room without moving.
Negative: Nothing would stay again :)

Positive: The breakfast buffet was amazing. Service was also fantastic. Esp liked the champagne available and pastry choices. We also loved the spa and beautiful rooms
Negative: The hotel could have had better wine and liquor choices and the rooftop bar service was very bad. We waited for our table for 20 minutes even though we had a reservation. Also drink quality was not great and service was extremely slow there. Disappointing unfortunately but spectacular views!
Summary: We loved this resort overall, the rooms were amazing, the property quality was great!

Positive: The view of the river from the room is wonderful, as promised. The room is very comfortable and facilities are well maintained. The bathroom and spa bath is extremely nice.
Negative: Tried to communicate with the hotel staff to help with restaurant booking but was unable to get helpful tips and ended up going to the nearby mall without any reservations, after a long day of flying into shanghai.
Summary: The rest of my trip after the bund was great.

Negative: We have had a fabulous time in Shanghai and staying at the Banyan Tree, on the Bund. The hotel is Ok. Banyan Tree hotels are a prestigious top quality brand, but sadly this hotel is not. The staff have all been fabulous and the food was great. Our room was very clean and a great size. we had a room overlooking the Bund and the view was amazing. Sadly the room is very tired. Numerous Floor tiles in the bathroom are broken and moving. The doors on the bathroom cabinet are falling to bits. The bathroom is the worst sabby place I have ever stayed in. Rooms, especially the bathrooms need a major refurb. Also the gym has no air conditioning or it wasn't working and there were no gym towels or water. Would not recommend or stay again.
