Positive: Nice and cute place, very central and close to everything you need in Bacalar. Ricardo, the anfitríon of the properly was really helpful to find the best deals on kayak rentals and trips around the Laguna and was always responsive for everything we asked.

Negative: Humidity in the apartment a little too high when not ventilated, although in general from a Laguna region one cannot expect much. Aerate and using the fan helps.

Positive: Good location, convenient street parking at the front, overall clean, very helpful and friendly host!

Negative: There was mold on the walls, not a lot but a little bit around the sink. Due to the very humid location we understood this is a huge issue in the whole region and kind of hard to skip. The host was very nice and didnt know about it so we are sure he has worked on it. Overall, this is common in the area but still not nice to have.

Summary: Nice location, super helpful host!

Positive: What a fantastic place. Such good value for money. Brilliant location of you’re looking to stay in the town. We spent a few days directly on the lake before staying here. This was place was way cheaper and we preferred it to our hotel by some distance. Comfy, cosy, clean, safe, air conditioned and also had Netflix which was a nice treat after long days in the sun. So many great restaurants and cafes nearby. Wish we stayed here for the entirety of our time in Bacalar. If you’re on a budget you won’t regret staying here!

Positive: Ricardo was there waiting for us. He seems a very nice family man and his english was much better than my Spanish. The room was perfect. The linen was excellent quality, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The place was spotlessly clean. The shower worked well and the toiletries were excellent. My daughter and I both loved this place and would definitely recommend it and we would come back here if we were to come back to Bacalar. It's so close to the square it really is a perfect little gem of a place. The kayak hire is also one of the cheapest rates around.

Negative: This is a booking.com problem. Usually when making a booking it says that the tax is to be paid in addition and upon arrival. It did not state this on my reservation So I had assumed the price included it too as booking.com gave me a final, total payment amount but it did not include the taxes which I know are normal.

Summary: One of the best little gems in Mexico

Positive: Great location in central Bacalar, Ricardo was really helpful providing information of what to do in Bacalar and he booked us on to a sunrise paddle board experience which was brilliant. He even very kindly picked us up and dropped us off to the paddle boarding at 5.30 am! Would 100% recommend this place to stay in Bacalar
