Positive: We stayed here for a week waiting for household goods to be delivered to our new retirement home.  Litchfield is a nice enough town, and actually the big city compared to our little village. This is a good, basic hotel/motel.  There is nothing to really complain about, nor does anything stand out as a reason to return.  We got a good price through Booking.com...and there were not a whole lot of other choices. It was reasonably clean, the bed was comfortable and the plumbing worked.  There is a breakfast, it was a decent offering of a hot protein, biscuits, gravy, a waffle machine, cereal etc.  There was nothing special and nothing exceptional. We did have this odd thing of the mini-fridge being super powered and freezing everything.  We told the staff and they gave a sort of shrug response.  I am not entirely sure if this place is on the way up or the way down.  There was evidence of some effort to improve things but the staff seem to be family members and not the young vibrant 20 somethings, but the hard working, worn 60 somethings. There is a reasonable selection of nearby restaurants and Walmart and a quick trips to Staunton, Il for our new home.
Negative: The pool was so heavily dosed with chlorine that we smelled it coming t through the front doors so we avoided even trying it.

Positive: It looks like it had been remodeled lately and was clean and beautiful. Bed was comfy and nice room size. I like it when the sink is separate from the bath area. Small breakfast but adequate. There is a Dennys next door but we had their biscuits and gravy, waffles and cereal yogurt.
Negative: The water did not drain in the tub. We spoke to someone this morning so I'm sure they will take care of it. The shower had great pressure. Otherwise, it was a nice stay. Will stay there again.
