Beach House Pietermaai offers a unique combination of peace, space, and privacy, directly by the sea. At the same time, it is located in the lively, historic Pietermaai district, in the heart of Willemstad, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Within walking distance, you'll find numerous restaurants, shops, museums, beautiful murals, the famous pontoon bridge, and the historic Rif Fort.
The house has an area of 100m2 with an additional 150m2 of outdoor space, including terraces and a beach surrounding the private pool. The pool (10x3.5 meters) offers stunning sea views and is exclusively accessible to guests. From the pier, you can enjoy spectacular sunsets and watch cruise ships sail in and out.
Beach House Pietermaai features a fully equipped kitchen with an island, dishwasher, oven, American-style fridge/freezer with ice maker, smoothie blender, Nespresso machine, and a washer and dryer. While cooking, you can take in breathtaking views of the sea. Outside on the terrace, there is a large dining table surrounded by comfortable Dedon chairs.
For entertainment, the house includes a Sonos sound system, smart TVs in both the living room and bedroom, and a well-stocked bookshelf with Dutch and English literature. By the pool, you can relax on the sunbeds or in the various seating areas, including a unique hammock above the sea, similar to those found on catamarans. A large barbecue is also available.
The house accommodates four people, with a second separate bedroom and bathroom on the sea side. It’s perfect for two couples or a family. For additional sleeping space, there’s a comfortable sofa bed in the air-conditioned living room. A baby crib is also available.
The master bedroom features an en-suite bathroom with two rain showers, double sinks, a hairdryer, and large mirrors. You’ll sleep in a luxurious box spring (2x2) with sea views. The bedrooms are equipped with smart TVs, Sonos sound systems, quiet air conditioning, and ceiling fans. The master bedroom also has a walk-in closet and a separate toilet.
Beach towels, a cooler, and a beach bag are ready for a day out, for instance, to the beautiful Cas Abao Beach. The interior of Beach House Pietermaai exudes a trendy beach style, with a sturdy kitchen made of concrete and authentic wood, concrete floors, and high, classic ceilings with decorative moldings. Original elements of this monumental building have been preserved, creating a charming blend of historic and modern details. Parts of the building date back to the early 19th century and feature authentic dormer windows.

Summary: My partner and I came and stayed at “ The Beach House” this August for a birthday getaway and can’t sing enough praises on our wonderful stay!!! The house is beautiful and perfect location! We walked across the street almost daily for our morning coffee/ breakfast at the cute “Van Gough “ coffee shop. The house is walking distance from many wonderful restaurants, bars and shopping. Cindy and David ( hosts ) are very responsive with communication and made us feel welcomed during our stay!! We want to go back soon! Can’t say enough positive things about our trip and stay!! 💕😊

Summary: Everything about this rental is perfect. Every single facet of the home is subtly tuned to support an adventurous, relaxing and delightful Caribbean escape. The space is immaculately maintained and intentively curated in a manner that invited only the best of vibes, and supported seemingly every whim and wonder of the inspired travel king guests. From the moment we stepped foot on the property, we were amazed. There was a harmonious balance between the safety, privacy & seclusion afforded by the house and it’s amenities and the teeming and vibrant food/beverage/shopping scene in immediate proximity. The beach house at Pietermaii felt as perfect a home base as could be offered; outfitted with whatever one needs to enjoy a lovely time exploring the island and more than inviting enough to justify those lazy days spent entirely relaxing at home. Celebrating colonial Dutch architecture and embracing simplistic and intentional modern design, this property is an architectural achievement of tasteful perfection. Living spaces sprawl from the spacious, well lit and high ceilinged kitchen and parlor, separated by a handsome and functional island, to the patio, separated by floor to ceiling sliding glass doors. Beyond the patio, a lovely sand courtyard, together with an extremely clean and decently sized pool, form the center of outdoor leisure areas, bordered by a large deck directly above the ocean. The oceanfront at this beach house property affords views that contend with any and all photo vistas one could compile from the island. The master bedroom, just off of the parlor in the main building is lavishly outfitted with a sinfully comfortable bed & spread, luxury bathroom double shower and vanity fixtures with ample storage for even the heaviest of packers. the guest bedroom is just as lovely, outfitted with another gorgeous bathroom and lovely living space. All indoor areas are equipped with powerful air conditioning systems that blast through even the most intense curaçao mid day heat. Ample linens, towels, tissue and even some carefully selected self care products were available on site for use, in addition to a lovely beach bag and more trinkets to supplement most any adventure. The owners of this rental are incredible people. Cindy and Dave answered our every question and catered to our every need. They were invested in our happiness without being too present or overbearing. Wish we could write more. We cannot wait to return.

Summary: The home is so beautifully laid out, nothing stands between you and the grandness of the Caribbean Sea (thanks to folding glass doors throughout)! It's amazingly private even though you are smack in the middle of the lively, foodie forward Pietermaai District. Cindy and David were extraordinary hosts, responsive and ready with restaurant, activity, and getting-around suggestions as well as making arrangements for us. This vacation home is going to be hard to beat! We will definitely look to return.

Summary: The property was a perfect, private, quiet getaway. For the two of us it was spacious, well equiped and with flexible indoor/outdoor living. Just nearby in easy walking distance there are plenty of great restaurants and bars. We loved the fact that we could chill out in the pool on our own looking out at the fantastic view or we could head out and in less than 10mins be in the centre of a lively and interesting city.
