2 Bedroom Condo in Canoa

Playa Del Sol is a 3 building 15 unit adult, gated, condo development North of Bahia de Caraquez and about 5 km south of Canoa Ecuador. The condo sits directly on the beach and you just have to open the back gate and your toes are in the sand. In the center of the property is an infinity pool that appears to drop into the Pacific ocean.
Our condo is on the ground floor, air conditioned and handicap accessible. It has a fully equipped kitchen, linens, washer, dryer, internet, tv (no tv service) with a Netflix equipped DVD player. The condo has a 4 person maximum capacity with a minimum age of 13 and a minimum stay of 14 nights.
The property has 3 covered gazebo with a bbq, tables, chairs and running water. Fresh seafood, fish, fruit and vegetables can be purchased at the local market for very low cost and enjoyed at the bbq.
Smoking is allowed in the parking lot only. Electrical plug ins are 110, as in North America. This property is available July 1 - Dec. 31.

Summary: Ray and Terrie's place is perfect for enjoying the beach! The pool is such a wonderful place to just relax! The sliding glass doors directly opening to the beach give you a wonderful view and the breeze and sound of the waves is incredible. We never even used the air conditioning! The people living in the condo complex are incredibly friendly (but not TOO friendly!) and helped us get fresh fish (a guy comes to the gate a few times a week!), taxi rides and information on local happenings (trivia night at Surf Shack was super fun! An art show at Canoa Suites to benefit a local animal shelter!) A three mile walk on the beach or $3 taxi ride gets you to Canoa for great food and tiendas. A $5 taxi ride gets you to San Vicente for much more and an $8 taxi ride gets you to Bahia for even MORE! Also, there is a bus that stops out front. Everyone uses that to get to shopping, but uses a taxi to get back because it's easier carrying your shopping. We can't wait to go back!

Summary: We spent the last 9 days of a 6 week Ecuador adventure at Playa Del Sol. Ray and Terrie’s condo was spacious, clean, comfortable and well appointed. The beach is beautiful, ocean swimming and body boarding fantastic and the Infiniti pool with common barbecue area is exceptional. The neighbour’s within the complex were all very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed many roof top sunsets and overall had a very relaxing enjoyable time.

Summary: A wonderful stay in a perfect place. The condo is spotlessly clean, very comfortable with the best equipped kitchen we've ever had during our two years on the road. There is a private terrace with the beach just a few feet away. The complex is tranquil, well-maintained with a perfect pool. You can walk the beach to the village of Canoa and it's a 15 minute drive to the big supermarket in Bahia. After many months of driving, we found a little piece of paradise. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves every night made it very hard to leave. Thank you.

Summary: Terrie and Ray's condo was exactly as pictured and described and we loved our stay there (October 30-November 6). We have been traveling through Ecuador for six weeks so far, staying at accommodations varying from small BnBs and higher end hostels and were ready for "American-style" accommodations, especially during the long holiday weekend and we found it at Playa del Sol. Quiet and secure on a beautiful stretch of beach a 45 minute stroll or 15 minute $.50 bus ride south of Canoa (or 15 minute stroll south to Brecino, an even smaller town). The expats who live in the complex (and several other complexes nearby) are a friendly and caring group. The birthday bbq we were invited to around the pool and grill was fun as was Trivia Night at the Surf Shack in Canoa, preceded by a delicious dinner on the beach at Suki Bar (both American owned). The condo had very comfortable beds, pillows and seating areas, nice linens and bath towels (and towels for the pool and beach were a nice touch), the shower water was hot as was the bathroom sink water (usually just cold water from sinks in Ecuador!). We enjoyed cooking in the fully equipped kitchen and catching up on our Netflix shows on the flat screen television. Stocking up on food was easy with the large markets and grocery stores in San Vicente and Bahia a short and cheap bus or taxi ride away. And we found a mini-market with fresh produce in Canoa for last minute purchases. We didn't use the pool grill, but it was large and stocked with charcoal. And when we didn't want to cook, the restaurants in Canoa or Brecino were close by and good, with choices of ex-pat owned and local owned. We fell asleep nightly to the sound of the waves. A special thank you to property managers Diane and Tony who were so very helpful, answering our emailed and texted questions promptly, greeting us at the condo at check in and recommending markets, restaurants, bus and taxi schedules throughout our week's stay. We highly recommend this condo and location, the value is superb and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. A true find.
