Please be our guest! Sandy Shores has been in the Hall family for over 60 years, and is currently owned and operated by Myrtle Hall. Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952. The one-story Gulf Cottage (vrbo/78339) followed in 1972. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores!
Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. Myrtle carries on the Hall family tradition of hospitality at Sandy Shores and adds her special brand of German warmth. Her attention to detail and cleanliness makes Sandy Shores a unique and charming retreat.

Sandy Shores is a very unique “slice of old Florida”, with lots of flowers, palms, lounging areas, privacy, all with a relaxed vibe. There are only four units on the property and three of them rent on a weekly basis – so most of the time you have the whole place to yourself.
The Gulf Cottage is a single story, one bedroom House, very private, quiet and clean with a spectacular, unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico. It has a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa.
The kitchen has everything what a chef would wish for, a big fridge, dishwasher, microwave and stove included. The bathroom has a bath tub / Shower.
Behind the Gulf Cottage and landscaped courtyard is a two story building – the top floor I reside in – with the PATIO and GARDEN Cottages below.
The Patio Cottage has a King Bed and Queen Sleeper Sofa, the Garden Cottage has a Queen Bed and a Queen Sleeper Sofa. Both have a full kitchen with stove, fridge and microwave. The bathroom has a bath tub / Shower.

Summary: Sandy Shores was a perfect place to soak up the sun and enjoy a balance of peace and quiet and activities. The Patio Cottage was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. A king size bed, cable tv, internet, kitchen, bath, grill, patio and right next to the beach. Good restaurants within walking distance. Our hostess, Myrtle responded to emails and texts and really made us feel welcome. Our area did not feel overly commercial and had a nice neighborhood feel. It was great and we would do it again!

Summary: Truly a gem! Unbeatable location with beach at the front door. The property was spotless, quiet, and offered so much privacy, which made it perfect for relaxation. From the peaceful mornings to breathtaking sunsets, it exceeded my expectations. I had the best time and can’t wait to find the time to come back and enjoy it all over again!"

Summary: Vintage gem that survived the hurricanes…the gardens are being restored to their former beauty. Exactly as pictured. Very clean, pleasantly surprised by amenities like coffee, beach towels and supplies.

Summary: There are not enough words to describe how amazing Myrtle and her homes are. The place was beautiful, very clean, and an amazing location. You really had everything you needed within walking distance. Myrtle was incredibly friendly, very thorough in her tour, and easy to communicate with. I wish we had more time to sit and chat with her. We came for a wedding and were quite busy most days, but that is the one thing I regret, not getting more time to chat with Myrtle. She is absolutely amazing! We had #2, the Patio, and it was perfect for the 2 of us. It had a very comfy king bed and 2 pull out sofas. There was more than enough built-in storage and closet spaces to accommodate all your luggage. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook, open a bottle of wine, and clean up after yourself. Myrtle provided wifi passwords and cable, or you could log into your apps. Even though we came in after 2 very powerful hurricanes, you couldn't tell. She had the place in tip-top shape like nothing happened. Some plants were damaged, but she had new ones placed around, and you could tell she takes great pride in her units and the garden. It was stunning! I can't wait to see it next summer! You have a short paved path, and then you're on the sand of Indian Rocks Beach. What more can I say. You can leave your unit barefooted, walk a few feet, and have your toes in the sand. You couldn’t ask for a better place. Stunning location!

Summary: Sandy Shores provides everything one needs for a great vacation in IRB. Myrtle is a gracious and helpful host. The apartment is clean, well-maintained, and full of character. The garden is lovely and provides comfortable places to relax, the beach is on the doorstep, and great restaurants are nearby. We've visited three times already and we look forward to returning.

Summary: This is a wonderful ocean side oasis. I will definitely return. I stayed in the ocean side cottage. It was so nice and cozy. Very clean. The grounds are very nice. Beautiful beach. Mrs. Hall was very welcoming and lovely. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
