Summary: We have family in the area and this house was large enough for them to be able to spend a night or two with us. It was great that they didn’t have to go back home every night. The kids loved being able to swim and fish. I love that the owner left a little surprise for us, it made it feel that much more special. Loved watching the sunsets every night.

Summary: This property was perfect! My family and my sisters family stayed here together and had plenty of room. It is clean. It’s open and the views are amazing! Kitchen was stocked with everything and we made dinner every night there. It’s December and colder so we didn’t get to do the lake things but we all decided we WILL be back! Bethany is the sweetest and responds quickly. I would 10/10 recommend her property!

Summary: Our family loved staying here. The kitchen is well equipped, there are many games already there (our son learned to play poker this vacation), the lake is beautiful and we caught some really big catfish from the pier. We are hoping to come back soon.

Summary: We had an amazing trip! From start to finish! I cannot say enough good things about the house, the number of amenities, and the host. The home was very clean and very large. It was so spacious for the adult, our kids, and our nephews. The home is beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. Anything you need is there for cooking and also for just having a good time. The host is extremely responsive and extremely polite and will answer any of your questions In a very timely fashion. During our trip, it was intermittently raining, the host wrote us to check to see that the kids were having a good time and we reassured her and told her that luckily each day we had at at least a few hours of good weather on the lake. That’s all we really needed with little ones, we would go on the lake, then eat dinner, play games, and watch a movie. On our day of departure, it was raining and the host was concerned for us driving home in the rain. She actually offered for us to stay an additional night. We would have totally taken her up on it and I was super tempted since we loved the home and our vacation experience, except, unfortunately we had to work the next day! There are so many amenities, you’ll be surprised! In addition to the water vehicles, there are plenty of life jackets, a basketball, kids football, board games, movies, candy, surprise fruit, surprise treats for the kids, cleaning supplies, and condiments. There was even a Xbox, which we brought games for. The towels were so nicely folded and included a small sanitizer and scrubbing poof with each set. Regarding the lake, the shallow water was perfect for little kids.It was so clear that you could see your feet. And the bottom was not muddy at all, it actually had course sand. We travel a lot and we look for places that make vacations easy with our little ones, and this place checked off all the boxes. Other than walking around the quiet neighborhood, we literally never left the place and we were never were bored. Thank you Bethany!

Summary: A slice of heaven! We had three generations of people in our group -- grandparents celebrating their 45th anniversary, us, and our 2 year old son. This house was ideal for everyone! Our little boy could run in-and-out of the water on our own private beach, without interruption or the ability to stray too far away. This was our first family getaway during COVID. We've been very hesitant to travel anywhere, but from the very start Bethany truly made us feel comfortable, safe, and secure about the cleaning and guest protocols. There's a very thorough list of cleaning processes and products used, and a policy that prevents guests from having back-to-back turnovers in the house. Bethany responded quickly and was very helpful and so kind! The house had everything we needed. The longer we stayed there, the more we realized how well appointed and stocked it is! We never left the house, and there were so many amenities both big and small that we didn't even have a chance to avail ourselves to all of them during our time! We used the kayaks and the grill, and enjoyed every minute- so fun! Ending each day with a sunset was out-of-this world. A trip we will remember forever. Thank you for your hospitality!!

Summary: TL;DR: This is a fantastic rental, especially for families with kids. If you love the water and enjoy chill downtime, this is the place for you. FULL REVIEW: We had an absolutely wonderful time at Monticello! It can be difficult for our family to find a place that everyone enjoys, due to our kids' age differences (17, 15, 9, plus an 18 year old cousin). The lake was the big draw for us and it didn't disappoint. We literally stayed in the water, relaxed in the hammock, or played games in the house for the entire trip. 😂 My 15 year old, who "hates the outdoors," absolutely loved kayaking. My 9 year old can be nervous in water (despite knowing how to swim), but he felt completely confident in the calm waters of the lake. My 17 year old is generally glued to her phone, but she wanted nothing more than to detach and hang with her cousin while they floated on the water for hours on end. Inside, the game room was a fun bonus. All of the kids had a blast learning to play pool. And we had family game night every evening at the big table down there. Food-wise, the grill made dinners easy as did the nearby shopping center. It was awesome to have a fully stocked kitchen. We ended up buying some Ziploc bags to store leftovers but everything else was right there at our fingertips. One enormously awesome aspect for me was that we didn't have to wash the linens and towels. Nothing brings a vacation down faster than spending the last day doing laundry for 5 or 6 people. All we had to do was take out the trash. As a mom who usually takes on the majority of the cleaning, THIS WAS AMAZING. Also, the 3:00 check out time was heaven. Monticello isn't a brand new, super up-to-date home. It's well loved and has some small cosmetic issues. Honestly, it made me less nervous seeing that it was a family home ... I could relax and not worry overly much about my kids wrecking something expensive. Rest assured that everything works well - kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, showers, lights, etc. The beds, couches, and chairs are all super comfy with some killer blankets to cozy up in. Lastly, Bethany was a joy to communicate with. She was patient with my questions, prompt with her replies, and overall is clearly a kind-hearted person. She put together 4 "happy vacation" buckets for the kids, which were a surprise that made everyone smile. My only regret is we didn't stay long enough! My first experience through VRBO and I can't recommend it enough.

Summary: This is a large, beautiful home with wonderful access to the lake. We enjoyed the kayaks, fishing off the dock, the pool table, meals in the clean, well equipped kitchen, pool table, and more. The extra table in the basement was wonderful for crafts for the kids. We had so much fun!! The host was one of the best we've had. She was prompt with responses, enthusiastic and very helpful! We could not have asked for a better host!

Summary: This was the perfect location for our family vacation - thumbs up from kids, parents, and grandparents! Fantastic beach access and more than enough space to spread out inside. We particularly loved using the kayaks and pool table, and all the neighbors were so friendly. Highly recommend!
