The cozy and recently updated cabin is situated just a few feet from Mestad Spring that feeds into South Bear Creek, one of the top trout streams in Iowa. Public fishing access is located steps away! Sit outside on the front deck and take in all the fresh air and beautiful scenery the area has to offer! Summary: The property lists as having air conditioning with the air conditioning was not adequate for cooling the space during the 90° temperatures of late July. The air really did not reach the bedrooms . Ceiling fans are helpful but ,again, did not help in the bedroom. Perhaps you could consider some sort of small fans in there to help with the circulation for summer. Found The cabin it was very comfortable and otherwise we'll equipped. I loved the setting surrounding the property.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was decorated beautifully, rooms and beds were comfortable, and the land it sits on is the real attraction. We couldn't get down into the spring next to the property but spent so much time outside on the porch (which we loved!) and in the yard watching birds, deer, and rabbits. It was so peaceful.

Summary: A good central location for kayaking in the area, and close to the Bear Creek access area for nature walks. A trout access is right across the road--don't let the "Private Property" sign put you off.
