3 Bedroom House in Brainard, New Lebanon

Beautiful, bright & clean 3 bedroom home is not a 'rental' house (we use it as our family ski house all winter). It sits on 10 acres and is very private. Has outstanding views, an enormous private yard (great for kids), and tastefully landscaped. The furnished screened in porch sits upon a very large wrap around deck to enjoy the views and beautiful summer nights in the Berkshires. There is a stream running along the entire property that is very relaxing to listen to at night. The proximity to the stream and woods also offers great exploring.
Large open floor plan with living room and kitchen on first floor with an oversized stone floor-to-ceiling fireplace in the living room. All three bedrooms are on the second floor. The master bedroom has vaulted ceilings, master bath and a private deck overlooking the mountains.

Summary: We stayed here for the summer of 2020 and couldn't have landed in a better spot. It was everything we hoped it would be when we booked, and then some. The home was exactly as pictured, in the best way possible. The owner was super responsive when we had questions or as things came up. The location and views can't be beat - we were close enough to the Berkshires to be there when we wanted, but far enough to really enjoy the peace and remoteness too. We're thrilled that we've added great memories of our summer in the Orange House to our kids' childhoods.

Summary: I have rented several properties in the Berkshires, all previously on the MA side. This house and it’s view wins hands down! Frankly, I would’ve been content just looking out the window or sitting on the screen porch all week — the view is that stunning! The house is very comfortable and Rick the owner proved 100% communicative from start to finish. The location is definitely rural and best if you don’t mind driving a little to towns like Stockbridge, Lenox, Lee and Pittsfield (I went to all). It’s about 45 mins to the Albany airport. There’s a riding stable very close by. Local Farmer’s market on Sunday. A few flea markets, too. I hope to rent this house again!

Summary: We had a wonderful week in the Berkshires. The house was exactly as shown in the photos; Immaculately kept and comfortable. We absolutely loved the views out the back of the house: extraordinarily green and rolling hills. Rick is a wonderful host, responsive and helpful. The house is really well located, almost everything we wanted to do was about 20 minutes away. A great location to get our first taste of summer in the Berkshires. We will definitely be back.

Summary: We stayed here for 10 days and used it as our base for enjoying the myriad cultural offerings of the Berkshires. It worked out tremendously well. The house is perfect. Very quiet and secluded, but just a short drive away from Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Shakespeare & Co, Williamstown Theater, Mass MOCA etc. We even ventured down to the Fisher Center at Bard for a performance -- that's about an hour's drive away, but a stop in Hudson was a great way to break up the drive. The house is very well equipped, beautifully decorated and the setting is spectacular. The master suite, which offers stunning views from its own private porch, is fantastic. Our biggest challenge was just prying ourselves away from the wonderful wrap-around back porch each morning. We could have spent the whole vacation just sitting out there, admiring the view of the Berkshire hills and enjoying the wildlife that comes through the property. While we did some hiking (lots of opportunities for that nearby) we definitely focused on cultural attractions on this trip. I could see returning to this property for more of an outdoor-focused vacation and being easily able to fill another week or more. Hoping we'll get the chance to do that at some point -- I'd return to this property in a heartbeat!

Summary: Overall great property and great experience. The owner (Rick) was very friendly and responsive to questions. We give it a 5-star rating and recommend renting. Situated in a quiet, bucolic setting, the house is an old renovated farm house, well furnished, comfortable, with original décor and artwork. The property is only 45 minutes from Albany/Saratoga and is centrally located to the Berkshire mountains and activities, i.e., only 30 minutes or less to Tanglewood, Clarke Institute, Stockbridge, etc. The upstairs master bedroom is spacious with a cathedral ceiling, has a very comfortable king bed, and features a walk out deck. We enjoyed reading and star gazing from the deck. The other bedrooms were comfortably furnished. The kitchen was well equipped, everything was in good working order (pots, pans, utensils, appliances, coffee maker, etc.), and we enjoyed preparing several meals. The property also features a great deck and screened porch on the main level. We had outstanding weather and spent many hours enjoying the deck and setting. The house offers all the comforts of home: A/C, cable TV washer/dryer, WiFi and there was plenty of hot water. We rented for 7 days and if we came back to the area we would rent this house again. Summary: I must confess that I found this listing after another lease agreement happened to fall through at the last minute. Well, that's the best thing that could have happened to me, a blessing in disguise. Loving all the Western Mass summer attractions, I never stayed on the New York side of the Berkshires before. If that is your concern, don't fret. Tanglewood is less than 25 minutes away, and many other great spots are also close: the Shakespeare Theatre, Barrington Theatre, museums, great restaurants, and lots of hiking and nature. I've been staying in the Berkshires for years, and this property has the most beautiful view I have ever seen. It's so open, bucolic, serene -- and the backyard is well maintained, so sitting in the back, and playing in the grass, is a joy not overwhelmed by bugs and wild growth all over (all of that is kept at a safe, but beautifully close, distance). The house itself is spacious enough to be comfortable for several people, and it's VERY clean. This is important when you're staying so close to the woods and mountains. I didn't see anything more than a couple ants while I was there. It's not an overstatement to say that my summer stay in the Berkshires this year was magical and unforgettable; and Rick's family's place allowed that to happen. You can tell that he and his family love this house and take good care of it. That's always a good sign. If you want beauty and comfort and all things Berkshires, then this is a wonderful place to stay. You absolutely will not be disappointed. And, it most certainly helps that in all his dealings, Rick is quickly responsive and easy to reach. I strongly recommend.

Summary: We love everything about this house! It is beautiful, spacious and comfortable, in a private setting with amazing mountain views. This was a fantastic spot for our family of 5 which includes 3 kids ages 10 - 15. Our children loved exploring the wooded areas around the house including a creek and playing ball on the huge lawn. It offers a perfect balance of a tranquil setting and nearby adventure. Museums, nature trails, Shaker Village and shopping are all within close driving distance. The house was spotless, had a well equipped kitchen, large fireplace, and beautiful master suite (super comfy king size bed) with mountain views and an outdoor deck. Really, we could not ask for a better relaxing and rejuvenating destination. The only down side was having to leave at the end of our stay!

Our stay last summer was just perfect ~~ warm days with cool mountain breezes at night ~enjoyed especially on the porch! Your home was the perfect spot for my husband and I to get away ~ our own private home away from home. Had a great time exploring Great Barrington for shopping and great food but could easily come home to prepare our own meals when we wanted since everything we could have needed was right there. Summary: We've stayed here several times and can't wait to go back. The house is centrally located and convenient to all Berkshire attractions, but the house itself is the best part of the trip. There is something about this house that just makes you relax as soon as you walk in. The views are amazing, there is plenty of room, but it still feels cozy. We went with 2 adults and 3 kids, and it never felt crowded. We all enjoyed sitting around the fireplace so much that we didn't turn on the TV at all. The house has everything you could want, and the owner, Rick, is great to deal with. Our first time there, we arrived to find the coffee maker wasn't working. I called Rick, and a new one delivered the next day! He even got us some nice gourmet coffee for our trouble. If you are considering renting this place, go for it, just don't take our week! (too late, it's already booked!)

Summary: This was a fabulous rental by every measure. The house itself was beautiful, comfortable, and clean. The setting couldn't have been more splendid, with a big lawn and views of the nearby Berkshires and fields of wildflowers. The views could be enjoyed from inside the house as well as from the screened in porch, 2nd floor deck, and lovely lawn. The owner was also a pleasure to deal with and gave us many helpful tips about nearby activities. We highly recommend this rental.
