Summary: we arrived and had trouble finding the cottage, we suggest more accurate directions would improve this, we contacted by text and got no reply. Wifi wasn't available from the first night due to miscommunication with the caretaker, this was important as my husband planned to work during the break. It was sorted the next day and the wifi was good. One of the bunkbed mattresses was stained and smelt of urine which led to an uncomfortable sleep and I suggest that this is looked at. I found the furniture uncomfortable and difficult to get out of due to the low nature and my mobility. the steps up to the mezzanine level were a bit steep, although the banisters were good and help me to navigate going up and down the stairs. The turf stove was great and the washing facilities for clothes a real bonus. The peaceful location and the lovely location for walking the dog was brilliant with the railway walk was a great asset as I could use my rollator for the walk. With hindsight it was probably not the best place for me to stay. The rough path from parking to the house made it difficult for me. I think it would suit younger people. I Liked the renovation and there was plenty of seating areas to enjoy the surrounding landscape

Summary: We stayed in the cottage in the first week of September and were lucky enough to have mostly good weather allowing us to discover the surrounding area. There is a lovely railway walk a short distance from the house which takes you into Burtonport in about 20 min were there are a few nice cafes and a resteraunt as well as the ferry port to Arranmore Island (which is well worth a trip). The cottage is tucked away down a driveway away from the main road and overlooks the sea and the islands in front - just the view you want with your breakfast! It has been celeverly converted with a great use of space. A mezzanine level above the living room sleeps two adults and there is a little bedroom off the kitchen with a bunkbed which would be great for kids. The bathroom is quite small but the space has been used creatively and contains all you need. We did experience some wetter weather and on these evenings the woodburner in the living area made for a wonderfully cosy atmosphere. All in all this little rustic cottage was a wonderful place to stay wether you wanted to stay in and relax or explore the surrounding area. Frank was very helpful as well as being full of endless knowledge and tips for the area!

Summary: This is a lovely little cottage, in a great location. It's been converted very cleverly, with great use of space. The view from the breakfast room is beautiful, it's a 15-20 minute stroll to the pub along an old railway line, and there are some fantastic beaches to visit. It's Donegal, so the weather could be terrible - be warned. The living/eating area is a nice size, plenty of space for 4 people to chill out, and the stove was easy to light. Turf briquettes were provided - very straightforward. The bathroom is very small - that didn't bother us. We thought the cottage was very good value, in a lovely location, with everything we needed. We had fabulous weather, so we were out and about, and Donegal is stunning.
