Lovely, level entry, one bedroom, fully appointed, suite in beautiful Departure Bay. Suite has queen size bed, fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. All appliances in excellent condition. The suite has been meticulously maintained and is spotless. Attention to detail is through out, and every step taken to ensure cleaning and disinfecting for your health and safety.

A short 5 blocks, 7 min walk to the sandy beach at Departure Bay, picnic area, a new lovely coffee shop right across the street from the beach, as well a liquor store and convenience store. Large grocery store within the mall is approximately 8 min drive away.
A 10 minute drive to Departure Bay ferry terminal will take you to Vancouver. 15 minute drive to downtown Nanaimo and take a foot ferry to Protection Island and Dinghy Dock floating pub and enjoy a 2 km walk around Protection Island. Its a 2 hour drive to the capital city of Victoria where you will enjoy an absolutely beautiful city. 45 min drive to Parksville, Qualicum Beach and enjoy the shops/restaurants and beautiful sandy beaches/sunsets, and the extremely popular Coombs Market that is also known for its goats on the roof. Travel the1 hr 15 min drive to Port Alberni where on the way you will pass through and visit the famous Cathedral Grove old growth forest. Once in Port Alberni, you can board the MV Francis Barkley and enjoy a beautiful day on the water as you travel down the gorgeous Alberni Canal to Bamfield, with numerous stops along the way to drop off the freight and mail. This boat carries 140 passengers, has a galley and seating inside if one doesn't want to sit on the outside decks A 3 hour drive to stunning Long Beach, Tofino/Ucluelet where you will enjoy a spectacular day on the gorgeous beaches and be mesmerized by the most incredible sunsets.
These are just a few of the many sights to see on Vancouver Island!!! Not to mention the extensive hiking trails, golf courses, Mount Washington ski resort heading north on the island. There is so much to see, visit and enjoy on our beautiful island.

Summary: Sherrie is a lovely lady that always has a friendly word, is eager to assist and has an amazing garden laid out for all of the guests. Very nice above ground part of the house with large kitchen and ample room for 2 to relax and watch a movie or play a game or 2. The apartment is a 5 min walk away from departure bay and 10 minute drive from all that Nanaimo has to offer, which is a lot!!

Summary: First of all Sherrie’s place is immaculate! Everything you need - a comfortable home away from home! I LOVE ❤️ her recliners more than my own! I hadn’t seen a friend of mine in 40 yrs I went to school with who I was able to catch up with! Plus a comfy robe to climb into after the day and that recliner (see I mentioned it again!) with a glass of wine 🍷 was very chillaxing! Very quiet gorgeous oasis in the back yard area and a beautiful peek a boo view of the ocean with a lovely breeze and breakfast just makes a wonderful start to your day! Thank you 🙏 Sherrie, for being a fantastic hostess with the mostess Wouldn’t hesitate to return

Summary: This accommodation was wonderful in every way. The kitchen had great appliances and everything you need to make anything you could want to make -- even a rolling pin and pie plate to make a pie! It is obvious that the owner has thought very carefully what guests might need for a comfortable and convenient stay. Bed was very comfortable with the softest sheets ever and living room had good television and streaming services as well as comfortable recliner seats. The place was immaculately clean when we arrived. The neighbourhood was safe and quiet. The owner, Sherrie, was very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the Nanaimo area, and highly recommend this lovely place as a "home away from home."

Summary: Very clean, beautifully furnished, fully self-sufficient ground-floor/basement apartment. Large windows with lots of light. Modern appliances, large bathroom, and smart tv with comfortable reclining couch. Beautiful backyard, however as it is shared with the owner who lives upstairs and was always home, we did not use it as we did not want to encroach on their space. Great parking space allocated, and only ~4-5 km from the Departure Bay ferry terminal. Nanaimo is located in a great central area to explore Vancouver Island, and this rental is located in one of the nicest parts of the Nanaimo. Would definitely recommend!

Summary: Sherrie was a super host. Her space is clean and lovely. It is well set up for someone to stay for a long time. I stayed for 5 days and was very comfortable. The location was very good for my workshop that I was attending.
